mine is in a state of flux, which translated, means i have no fucking idea how it is going. It could be done tomorrow... it could be done in weeks time.

I am aiming to get it done within a couple of days.

Mine's basically done minus a good vocal take and the whole 'collaborating' thing. Anyone wanna do some drumming for me?

two things.
1 - my song needs only about two days' worth of work to be finished, so in theory it could be completely done before the deadline. however this morning i am on my way to a visit at my grandmother's house, who is... for lack of better words... not expected to still be there, as soon as tonight or tomorrow. as you might expect this sort of alters my plans for this week, and finishing a recording is not exactly foremost on my mind at this time. i hate to miss the deadline though, i feel terrible for the person who will be expecting a gift from me, so i will do my best to have it finished by the weekend, if possible. i hope under the circumstances this is acceptable.

2 - can anyone suggest a reliable, easy-to-use, easy-to-link-directly-to (i.e. for the purpose of this and somesongs), very cheap or free (also not relying on another individual to be paying the bill for me), place for storing music files? help by pm much appreciated!

I broke my guitar the other night. I'm taking it the the repair shop tonight, hopefully I'll get it back tomorrow, and then I'll see about finishing my song tomorrow night. We'll see, though. If I'm a day or two late, then that's why.

I need to make sure I am in "music mode" today.

I have 3 songs that are due tomorrow, and 2 other songs that I need to finish asap.

I am going to try to have both of my obligations from this thread covered for tomorrow's deadline.

ROCK!

I just had a conversation with my friend Kyle. It went sort of like this:

K- So are you still doing (the e-fed)?
N- Yeah, I've just been busy
K- Doing what?
N- I've been doing the SF 200 and this thing called the GoM.
K- What's that?
N- The GoM is this holiday celebration that happens....

that's when I realized that tomorrow is the 17th and the world went blank for a moment. I'm definitely going to be late getting my song in. Definitely.

In fact, GoM's let's take a count. Who's in tomorrow and who's gonna be late.

Well, for all you slackers who didn't heed my warnings, you will be happy to hear that I most likely won't be able to put the page together until Sunday Jan 21 anyway due to a very hectic schedule at the moment, so consider this an un-official extension.

I guess I shouldn't've signed up.

Life is, uh, interesting (read: hectic and insane and I'm contemplating moving to Delaware and becoming a cat lady. Who needs college, really?) so I won't get this done. I haven't even gotten the Coverfight song done that was due way way back. I should've planned my time better, buuut I didn't. Sorry. I should have them done by... uh, jeez. I have midterms, a musical, gallery openings, a vacation, AP tests, finals, college apps, an attempt of a social life... So how's about January 2008?

My buddy Chris at the Music Emporium says that my guitar should be out of Surgery tomorrow, so I might be able to finish recording just in the nick of time. If not, then absolutely by the weekend.

Actually, I should take the opportunity at this point to thank my GoM buddy for this year for supplying me with, what I believe is possibly one of the most tedious and pretentious songs in the history of recorded music to do a cover of this year! It is so bad - I think even Pink Floyd would be embarrassed by it.

The original song I have chosen to do is so hideously awful, I feel like I have done humanity a favour just by improving it. So thank you song giver - you may have placed me one more step on my way to cannonisation.

My song isn't done yet. But it will be done in time for the unofficial extension.

I have no idea why Eddie called it an unofficial extension. He is co-organizer. So it's official. January 21st.

If you haven't got anyone to collab with.....start PM'ing now.

I think Furrypedro and I deserve some sort of special award for being what looks like the minority in finishing on time. People, you had like TWO MONTHS! What is this, "A Woman on Paper"?

I'm really kidding, I know how it goes.

Mine's in, but I didn't collaborate with anyone on it because it just sounded good already and I didn't want to mess with it.

I'm with Jim on this one, although....was the collab thing non-optional? If so, I'm screwed. I would've done it, but y'know, if you want a deadline met don't let your work within a 100 metres of anybody ever. That 's my rule, and it worked too.

I also didn't use a collaborator, mostly because I am the World's Worst Collaborator. I basically use anyone I work with like a live piece of music software. I want to tell them exactly how _I_ want it, and if they don't do it that way I get frustrated. I pretend to listen to their ideas, but I'm really just waiting for them to finish talking so I can tell them that I don't want to do it their way and would they please just do it my way? Thanks very much.
