Did I read somewhere that there's a piano we can use? I'm hoping to use that for a song.
Also, is there any place to have a rehearsal (J$, Roy, I don't think we discussed that yet, but Sunday morning should be ok for that?)?

Yep, Sunday morning is fine for me. It also transpires that I am free Saturday day time(after going out to purchase ukulele) until about 4pm.

I think what I'm going to end up doing is driving out to Jersey somewhere after dinner on Saturday (many things to do at home), so Sunday is a better rehearsal day for me.

Hello!

Guess who's coming to sf:nyc2?!

Me :)

Jim's pcking me up in boston (because he is awesome) so I will see you lovely people on sunday!

However, I don't have my songbook with me so I don't know how most of my songs go but I will noodle around this week and see if I can scrounge together something. So if I could have some time somewhere to play/sing that'd be great :) if any of you need any vocals or whatever let me know and I'll do whatever I can!

I look forward to seeing everyone!

Looks like my bandmates and I are gonna head out of central NH early Sunday. We'll be in Boston for 9am, and then straight on to NYC. Which means we probably won't catch the very beginning of the acoustic show, right? Is that starting at 12 or 1? I guess it'll be tight either way. But we'll get there, by God.

We're also headed out of town after the Sidewalk Cafe show. A quick trip, but I'm looking forward to it.

How about posting the details of the show to the songfight.org main page?

The Park show seems to be a crazy hullaballoo. It's much more freeform than the Sidewalk show. We still to figure out the line-up order for that show. For the park, it's supposed to start at 1. I would suggest bands start arriving around 12, so that we can work out any kinks (not like that C-Ray) and get some munchies for the picnic part. Then I figure sometime after 1, someone will do a set. There'll be some eating. Another set. So on and so forth. Maybe someone will wanna jam through some covers later in the day.

i still love the "emily" and "backyard". just listening now... "mean to me" is cool, but can you do this live?

Okay. My bass player and drummer have just informed me that they will not be coming down with me to NYC. This changes my approach to the show, but only slightly. I'm still content doing a solo set, and I don't mind playing the night show if it's still appropriate to do so. It makes travel a little less complicated actually, so there's that.

Here I am, posting twice in a row.
Does anybody have a megaphone, toy or otherwise, that I could borrow for the evening event? I'd like to try it out for one of our tracks. Hopefully with a volume knob :)

RE: megaphone - not exactly. I have a mini guitar amp that does some nice distortion, but you'd need a 1/4" jack from the mic.

RE: order of playing - I'd rather go earlier than later. I love to perform, but I'm always really anxious about it and I can't really enjoy other folks' music if I'm wrapped up thinking about my own set. (Something I learned from the Philly show.)

RE: Bjam - woo!

OMGWTF - mine will be ready tomorrow! So I'll have an acoustic at the park. I will bring my electric Sunday night, or do you also need the acoustic there as well (I have a pickup, though I think Jim's is built in?)

I also have one of those real (black) music stands, and will bring a couple folding chairs that work well for the park.

And munchies.

Technically it's 2 - 5:00. But I'm sure we can start early. I want to go on early as my family is splitting to see Cirque du Soleil.

I have to learn a lot of music. It's been a crazy couple weeks and I'm a little...behind.

I would like to perform early as well. As you know, I'm not staying for the evening show and we have decided to take the 5:17PM train from Penn Station. My wife gets nervous about these things, so put me early please. And I will plan on using Roy's newly repaired guitar!

Weather.com says it's going to rain Sat and Sun. Bring umbrellas and stuff, everybody.

It has already begun raining here in NYC. Let's cross our fingers that the rain passes by Sunday.

Well, then why don't we do a line-up for both shows? A li'l structure won't hurt.
