This isn't the order I recorded the songs in - the actual chronological order was 3 & 7 (track 7 was originally the middle 8 for track 1, fact fans) ,1,4,6,8,5,2. Ii just thought this order sounded better, only I mis-named the two Stone Palaces.

Lots of good AAD stuff lately. Bjam's "Metal Didn't Keep Me Down" (which needs a cover showing off the new braces) was very good (as I've already said). Badger Patrol brought the rock. Cake at the Door is my first song to obsess over this year. I'm going to be playing that one ad nauseum. And J$'s newest alter-ego, the Gary Wilmots, was very very good. I liked your work with my lyrics. Hearing you chant about being the new Christ was awesome. I also really liked Barely Human and That's How we like it. I think the two tunes need to be merged like Queen's We will rock you/ We are the Champions.

You make more songs than the average listener can follow. I must say I like this a lot. It's way better than your February Month album from last year. That's the last I remember. I concur with the BURN comment above. I would even pay to keep this in my permanent collection. Cheers.

This is godly awesome. Way to raise the AAD bar. Now I feel like I have to try and top this Mind Control is fabulous, Creature of Habit sounds like # produced by Donald Fagan (this is a good thing) and Nothing Better, well, hey, I haven't heard anything better for a while. One level shame you didn't "finish" it, another it feels done as it is. Anything else would be superfluous. Damn Fightmaster for not getting the titles out while you wre on this rich vein of form. 'Never had a job where I had to wear a hat' - you do now, the job being 'pop genius' and the hat being a crown

I have a question. What constitutes an album are we talking 5-6 or 10+ songs?

I'm really interested in doing this, something to get the stagnant pool that is my songwriting moving. I'm sure this has been delved into at some point but it wasn't done on the first page of the thread so i thought i would just ask.

But here's a synopsis: in a 24-hour period, you must write, record, and upload an album consisting of at least 20 minutes of music OR 30 songs. There's more to it than that, but not much. Read about it at Crap Art, and check out some of the AADs there. Some favorites of mine:

I had a lot of time over spring break, I guess. I was really pushing it trying to get it over 20 minutes; I ran into a creative dry spell about 8 or 9 hours in, just couldn't come up with anything so I started playing around semi-randomly. That's what Eddie Gaedel came from (which I actually really like) but also what track 6 came from (which is just useless filler).

The first HNiD AAD.

It actually took me less than half a day, and it was surprisingly easy and fun. I expected it to be long and grueling. I think it had a lot to do with the concept. But also, the weird thing is that I wasn't intending to make an album a day. I just decided to start writing some songs and to record them quickly, just like little b-side sort of things. Then I realized I was getting close to album a day length, so I kept going.

Born Again and Again and Again...

This is a concept album about reincarnation. Each song is sung in a different lifetime by the same narrator, just by the narrator's different incarnations.

My favorites are "Deer," "Skunk" and "Whale."
