Actually I don't care one way or the other. I'm just stoked that we have a venue.
Just, you know, some people might mind.

The Cayuga Vault is a new, non-alcoholic intimate performance & workshop venue, located in the Eastside Village of Santa Cruz at 1100 Soquel Avenue, on the corner of Cayuga St., one block west of Seabright Avenue.
considering that this subject comes up every year anyways...maybe this year the problem isn't even going to be a problem.

Yeah, I mean, I'm fine with going out to drink afterwards instead. And it certainly wouldn't hurt my and #'s sets if we're, like, sober.

I'm thinking of coming along with Plat if he goes. But I am not one of the musically inclined. Does anyone think others might be in my boat who wouldn't mind sitting at a table with me or whatever else in the area while the musicians do their thing? thx

Whoa! That's only a couple blocks from where I used to live!!
The Redmons really want to go, but the Redmons are so broke! We will try our very best. We should put Paypall buttons all over the place in an effort to
Send the Redmons to Santa Cruz

My fairly ample floor and extra futon are up for crashing, esp for that first/last night from the airport thing if you don't want to drive the hump to SC.
There's a motel 6 in Watsonville that seems to be the cheapest alternative down there.

at the songfight! live show in seattle i videtaped, took still photos and also walked around and bugged songfighters in addition to just sitting and enjoying the show. did the same thing at the other songfight!-related shows. i think an audience is always appreciated.
and! i believe that prayformojo guy and myself will be there!

I think I'm gonna do this one. I'll probably stay up in Carmel with the relatives, tho I realize that will be a horrible drive down each evening if I wait 'til commute hours to do it...
I'll probably come a day or two early, will be available to do guitar / bass / backing vocals for anybody, and will also be interested in putting together a pickup band to do some KA songs...

Seeing as how Octothorpe will probably be there, I will probably be there too. Assuming that's the case, I'd be more than happy to play the following instruments for others:
Keyboard (I can bring Fred [my SIDstation] too, if requested)
Electric violin
Bass
Guitar
Drums
Backup vocals
Anyone found any good deals on accommodations yet? I could stay with my sister and her husband in San Francisco but that's a bit of a drive, and I'd also like to avoid renting a car.
Hm, I wonder if I can finagle a business trip down to Mountain View to lessen the financial burden. I think one of our vendors is going to need some fluffy lovin' about then. >:D

I still like to kid myself that I'd be able to make it out to this. Any news on accommodations/cheap flights is appreciated.

assuming I'll have use of my left wrist (currently broken) I'll be glad to play Bass or Guitar for others.
Please give me alot of time in advance though. Full chords and lyrical direction. I can't play right now...but in a month or so I'll start being able to practice.
(there is a very SLIGHT chance that I can bring my band..if not the band, maybe my drummer)
Jack , let us know you 'wrapped it up' B
and remind me? (us?) of the dates?

Also don't forget the airlines which don't allow sales via travel agents, such as Southwest and Jetblue. (This is how they can keep their prices so low; there's some obnoxious legislation from several years ago which forces airlines to pay the travel agent's commission, and then also forces their direct sales to be the same price as the travel agents' prices to protect the agents, so the airlines can either sell everything at a loss or they can just refuse to deal with travel agents. Guess which one they picked.)
(The really ironic/stupid thing is that these web-based travel agents go ahead and charge an additional commission to the customer anyway.)

Between a family vaca in Ireland mid-August and a prospective gig in Mexico City that starts in July, it may be difficult to sneak away for a three day weekend...but I've made it for others under similar situations, so who knows. Plus, my family may stay in Europe for another couple weeks while I return to feed the pigs. Or I might get fired. So I guess it's pretty much up in the air. I have housing, so if I can get away, between that and JetBlue, I'll be there!
Uh, were you hoping for short answers?
