I also have four songs I've never heard. Hooray for variety!

Anyway, here are the links for my songs:

Koop - Summer Sun (So classy sounding!)
Mum - Green Grass of Tunnel (Don't be fooled, it's not an instrumental.)
The American Analog Set - The Postman Track 16, fades out every thirty seconds. Stop/Start every 20 seconds to hear the whole thing. Wish I had an mp3 of this... (Epitonic has a remix of this for download. If you're covering this, you may want to wait until you're done before listening.)
MGS3: Snake Eater - Snake Eater (This song sounds more like James Bond than most Bond songs do.)

everyone should listen to these songs anyways because they rule.

I got 3 songs on my list that I don't know - so, some help would be good.

I guess the earlier you make your song choices available - the more chance you get your GOM on time

I have gotten a bunch of requests for mp3s. I'll compile a list and put it out tomorrow.

We still haven't settled on a due date.

Last year's deadline was January 10, a Monday, which seemed to work pretty well for (most) everyone.

I say we abandon all pretense of getting this done before Xmas and set the deadline to Monday, January 9.

Sorry I haven't put out that requests list. I've been sick with the flu. But I'll put it out soon. In the meantime everyone should just help out their fellow GoM'rs by putting up links to their songs.

And Fretnoize, you can be in. If anyone wants to switch with Fretnoize, drop me a line. OR if you wanna be in the Gift of Music and haven't signed up yet, now would be a good time.

Pumpkin Buzzard would be happy to join. We'll get a list of songs together soon. The result could then go on our covers album.

Update!!!

Post by Niveous »

Dammit.

I had done this post 3 days ago but a server error screwed me and it didn't go through. So here we go again.

The official due date of the GOM is ......January 9th. Mark your calendars.

Okay, so I did the usual "wait a while and see who posts up their links" bit that I do every year. This year, I waited a bit longer just because, honestly, some days the head is cloudier than others and organization suffers. But here goes:

These people need to post some links for their Giftgivers:
Rachael Layne
Glenn Case
Mogosagatai
Geoff Wreckdom

In other news:
Pumpkin Buzzard's in.
Fretnoize will be in as soon as he posts up some song choices.
Catch is still under consideration, seeing as he has yet to compete in a SF. (If anyone knows Catch personally and will give him a good word, that'll help my decision or if Catch will enter a SF or 2).
There may be one more band in this, depending on how the day goes.

Lastly for my giftgiver:
the Dresden Dolls song can be found on their website
the underOATH song can be found on their myspace page.
As for the Glassjaw song, I can send you the mp3 if you need it.

Thanks for everyone being so patient.
