#9. Write a song about another band or musician, but don't mention their name. Bonus points if it's a fellow Songfighter; double bonus points if it's another AAWWTF'er. (Note: It can be fictional.)

#10. Record totally intoxicated. You have to be drunk. Weed is ok along with the drunkenness. But mix it the following day when you are sober. Public Service Announcement: Please do this in your home studio and if you have band members, have them spend the night. Also, this is not recommended for recovering alcoholics, nor under age humans.

Yeah, no. Let's make this challenge something everyone can do.

#10 Amended: For the underage, the recovering alcoholics, and the people who are just kinda creeped out by the idea of getting drunk at home by themselves, instead get smashed on poprocks and redbull. Hell, even the caffeine is optional, just do whatever it takes to get your brain into an altered state (anything except actually watching the movie Altered States). Honestly, I'd rather hear a sugar-high song than a drunk song.

Hey Billy, are you doing an AAWWTF?

I'm looking forward to recording under the influence of several shots of espresso.

I haven't done anything since Nur Ein and my mind is going a thousand miles a minute. I've got songs that need to get out, so if I bring myself back down to ground level, I'm pretty sure I can zap everything out of my brain spaghettiz.
By the way, your "amended" #10 is perfect. Normal people on the caffeine do remarkable things.

#11 Steal the chords from a popular song, and write an entirely new melody to it.

#12 Landscapes

Can you explain what's meant by "landscapes"?

I think the challenge aspect of that one lies more in how you interpret it than in actually doing it. In the same spirit:

#13: Backwards backwards backwards

Unless 12 is the limit.

Limit, schlimit. The backwards one is cool. My mind! It is racing!

Yup. I could explain what I have in mind, but it would only limit you for your interpretation and that would go against the idea I have that challenges should be as open as they appear limited ...

that doesn't make much sense, i suppose, so what puce said ...

I'm gonna try 50/90 on my new lofi handheld. I wonder if I could double up and do the aaw as part of it - what week are you looking at?

Not sure, but feel free to name your preferred week and we'll discuss. Pretty much anything in the upcoming weeks should work for me.

Oof. I'd like to, but eventually I'd also like to finish work on my "real" album, which might be difficult if these sidefights and projects keep popping up.

Mark me down for "maybe."

If it's in August, definitely. And after, perhaps. Before, not at all.

(I want to record music again sooooo badly.)
