it will come up as 'you think you're so clever' in your player, but you can ignore that.
Dude, it's on the front page.

Sorry, Hoblit. I stepped away momentarily. Won't let it happen again.

Anybody want to hear my new song? I spent a while on it ... the intro is actually my entry for Crack in my Heart ... this song is called The Mysterious Journey, and it's my attempt at a poorly done instrumental epic. I'll write out the movements. If you want to know the story behind the music, just ask.

I. Heart Dissection
II. Fatigued Daze
a)Reverie
b)Resolve
III. Shirking the Beast
IV. Restless Slumber
V. Ascending the Mount
VI. Reminiscence
VII. Eternal Descent

Here's a link to it.

EDIT: Also, if you want to suggest things I should change, please do.

SPUD..I'm sorry...I quoted the wrong thing. My reply was to the 'video that that took him 45 minutes to make'.

it's probably the dumbest thing ever. you might not want to watch it at work or in front of children. or at all. i made in like 45 minutes using an incriminating image that a buddy made of me sodomizing myself.
REVISION

In other news... THAT TOOK YOU 45 MINUTES?!!

So I think that those hoblit things might have made it so nobody noticed I put up a song about 3 posts up from here ... unless it just sucks so much that nobody wants to talk about it ... you guys can check it out.

yeah. it's a shame, really. the video is a dumb concept, poorly executed.
in my defense, it was my first time using the software.

I was about to listen to it, althought this pansy comment almost made me NOT do it. I wasn't that excited about a ten-movement instrumental epic about heart failure. I mean, come on, unless you catch math-geek hippies coming out of an LSD trip at a 1976 Yes / King Crimson concert, who is going to be stoked about hearing a laborious instrumental expertly crafted in the essence of hospital despair and boredom?

Yes, I enjoy being the dick sometimes.

Andrew Reist - The Mysterious Journey
+++ Overall better than I expected +++
--- The first couple movements sound like
a bad Metallica intro as played by That Guy
Over There At Guitar Center
. ---
/// The part with the delay would be way better
if the delay was matched to the tempo -- whether
as 1/4 3/8 1/2 5/8 or multi-tap ///
+++ This little movement around 5 mins with the drums
is nice. I also very much enjoyed the last 2 minutes of
the whole work. It sounds like your production
improved miraculously. I also enjoy the bird samples
spliced at the ends. +++

So the first few parts were actually some of the first musical pieces I ever recorded for guitar (the first one is my entry for Crack in My Heart - my first songfight entry, and my first recorded guitar piece) ... I didn't do much with them except remaster them so they weren't clipping. Most of the things you said you liked I made in the past few days, and the bird samples were something that just popped out at me while I was finishing the song. As for production improving miraculously, I finally discovered the miracle of EQ and the problem of clipping. Thanks for your comments!

Hello, if anybody would like to subject themselves to some more bad spOOnmanship then I have posted my first non-songfight effort over at Somesongs, it's called 'Average Boy' and is my latest attempt at doing something slightly better than normal but failing miserably...

...oh well! :?

This isn't a new song - it was recorded in July 2003. But I just watched the trailer for the movie World Trade Center and thought I'd like to share this with anyone who might be interested. It's a 9 minute and 11 second thing about, uh, stuff.

The second Tokyoquake experiment is done. It's not as experimental as "Saint Gratus" but it does mark a couple of new things for me.

niv, you overloaded the mic a bunch of times, so you might want to re-do the vocal, and also i feel like it could use some sparse percussion, but it's enjoyable.
