Luke Henley's "Courage", "Die for Me", and "1000 Words" are all just about perfect.

It's interesting that the thread died after I said we needed more good female singers and the next couple posts months later are in praise of Bjam. :P

I'll spare you my praises and worship of Melvin since I've sung his praises in several threads. :D

In preparation for working on some music for "Broken Monster," I made up a CD of a bunch of Niveous / x-tokyo / Transatlantic Fight Club songs from songfight and listened to it all a few times today during a long, long drive. Niv, a lot of your stuff probably didn't grab me in the context of reviewing fights, but in the context of an all-Niveous CD, there is quite a body of work there. Standout song for me was "Let's Go Boy," but there are a few others that stuck in my head, too... the one with the line about "I'm listed in your demonology..." or whatever was cool, too, and I also dug "Courage" (or whatever the one with the repeated acoustic guitar phrase is) and "Don't Break My Heart Again." And "I Don't Believe You" was cool too.

Anybody who hasn't checked out the info on Niveous' "Broken Monster" project should go over to the collabs thread and give it a look... we should just get a bunch of people onboard and get this puppy happening!

i agree about niveous. he had a song up a year (or maybe more) ago that i loved. i lost it when my old laptop died. i forgot the title because i'm bad with song titles, but it had "rain falls" in it. that song was amazing. i listened to it so many times even though it only had audio on one side of the mix.

niveous, i think you should put that up again or rerecord it or something. it's a great, beautiful song.

Wow, I feel like I'm Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper just told me he thought I was rad.

Hoblit's "Threat Pt. II" is an awesome soundtrack tune, I put it on a mix-cd with a bunch of "commercial" music.
Anyway, Hoblit, how was this song made?

Ok, not normally much of a gusher, but after listening to this week's Butterfly Massacre post by Luke Henley and then going back and listening to last week's entry, I decided to listen to his whole back-catalogue and I've just been blown away. It not just really fantastic, it's also all very inspiring and gets me excited about and gives me ideas for my upcoming fights.

It's people like you that make it worthwhile. Thanks for listening.

I'd have to say my 3 favorites from my time at Songfight are:
1: Melvin
2: Bjam
3: Deshead

All three of you are very talented. Keep it up, and keep improving!
That's all the gushing I have to do.

Okay so I was just trying to figure out what Gert is, and I've pretty much decided that making Gert was the best thing ever. I really love the idea of being in a band you don't even know and pumping out such quality stuff. You guys rule.

Your praise pleases Gert.

Gert thinks that Jolly Roger also rules.

ha, you posted on my birthday. I made that song FOR A MOVIE...well, a trailer actually. I guess you probably already know that.

It's just a drum program, keys, and some guitar really. I just wanted something dark. I always thought JB's description of it at somesongs was the best imagery.

THANKS!

you can find more commercial stuff I did over there at somesongs. The bumshow series and Voyeurdorm. Voyeurdorm STILL has a video on their splash page that features that song. I quit working for them over an EFFING year ago.

I just started to listen to all of Melvin's back catalogue. I think I may have given you a hard time before, but I'm really blown away at the talent, quality and diversity of your stuff. You've done something I've been trying to do, which is have songs in a variety of genres. But you've done something I have not done, which is do them all well :-)

Kudos.

So I always thought that Blue was just a crazy guy who never made songs and just hung out here and made fun of people's songs, but then I was reading something and found some of his songs with that sonofsupercar band. I have a whole new respect for you. Keep making music, man.

Word. If Blue says that he likes a song that I have made, I know that I can believe him, because he is not afraid to tell me when he absolutely hates something that I have done.

He really is a good drummer too. I can vouch for this, as I have had the opportunity to jam with him on a couple of occasions. sonofsupercar was incredible while they were around. I am still bitter that I will not ever be able to see them play live.

I mean... he's not a good singer, but he still rocks. You may have noticed that I just put his Album-a-day <a href="http://glenncase.songhole.org/BlueLang/ ... "Beautiful Lunchbox"</a> back online recently. <a href="http://glenncase.songhole.org/BlueLang/ ... -gr.mp3">I am the President of the Sony Entertainment Corp. Ltd.</a> and <a href="http://glenncase.songhole.org/BlueLang/ ... mp3">Angry Noob</a> are particularly recommended.

ROCK!
