Re: Songfight: The Rockening
Calculate the odds. As mentioned in a previous post, duplicates in 18/60 (now 62) are highly likely. A simplified formula is toothpicks squared over haystack, or (17*17)/60 = 4.8 duplicates, although I it seems like in practice about 2-3 is more common.fluffy wrote:The first pack I ordered finally arrived... and I have to wonder what randomization strategy they're using, since in the one pack I got two Niveouses (Nivei?) and THREE Klownholes. Oh well, at least those are the valuable first-edition misprints.
The more cards that are available, the less likely duplicates become. So send in your data, people! For those who want to help out, I am working on a submission form.

Re: Songfight: The Rockening
Right, I"m just amazed that they don't dedupe on a per-pack basis. I only ordered one pack; you'd think they'd choose 18 unique cards at random, rather than choosing 18 cards independently.
I understand there'd be duplicates if you order multiple packs. I'm just surprised there's duplicates within a single pack.

Is there a new challenge to submit under a new moniker for the sole purpose to have a cool ass name on a card?

You should not be amazed. This was fully disclosed here: http://songfight.net/forums/viewtopic.p ... 55#p189755fluffy wrote:Right, I"m just amazed that they don't dedupe on a per-pack basis. I have put in a suggestion on the site that they create an option for no duplicates in subset packages. It is getting a lot of up votes. I will keep you posted.

I submitted updates to Intentionally Left Bank's card data. Was that a no-no?

You posted that after I ordered and I wasn't reading every single post about the minutiae of what the manufacturer does. I just post a lot to this forum, that doesn't mean I read everything.Spud wrote:You should not be amazed. Nope. Pretty straight forward. I'm going to try again later today and I got Dan Bailey (His Name is Dan) to try it out as well.Spud wrote:All of the information came in fine. Re: Songfight: The Rockening
I just submitted a Balls to Monte card. I did notice that the percentile didn't change on the preview but other than that (which it may just be on the preview), everything else seemed copacetic.

Re: Songfight: The Rockening
Balls to Monte has 20 songs and 2 wins, so it should say 10% but it says 0% instead.

Thanks, Niv. I see what happened there. I forgot to multiply by 100, and it was rounding everything to 0 or 1 (1=frontalot, 0=everyone else).Niveous wrote:Balls to Monte has 20 songs and 2 wins, so it should say 10% but it says 0% instead.

Re: Songfight: The Rockening
And another pack that arrived today had three Tyler Zahnkes, which is at least two more than I needed!
