They recently came out with their second album, it's a textural and engineering masterwork, and I have a huge soft spot for concept albums. Highly recommended, and great if you like to sit in a dark room with candles and incense and .. other substances.. while listening to tunes. Not that I'd ever encourage anyone to do that.

It's hard to say what I'm currently digging. Lately I've been enjoying the soundtracks to cartoon TV shows (like The Simpsons), but Marcus Kellis gave me a copy of Rolf is a Nazi, which, for those of you who don't know, was a version of The Sound of Music done by some of us Song Fight cast members back in 2005 (not me; I joined Song Fight recently). That episode is no longer available for download; you go to Sidefight Archive and all the links to the songs are broken. But Marcus gave me a copy! Thanks, Marcus! I loved Spud and his band, Octothorpe, doing the Sound of Music theme song, and the talented Jim of Seattle doing Climb Every Mountain. Man, I'm so into Song Fight that I have Song Fight stuff as my "currently digging."
These are aces. I don't expect it will survive the cross across the seas - it's undoubtedly "very British", whatever that means. If one was being reductive, it could be described as Mark E Smith fronting an amateur electro band, but as good as that sounds, this is so much better. Munt. Punk Hop. Swearing. Lyrically a bit fragmented but I admire that. So, anyway, I give you the Sleaford Mods. You'll probably get last song "Pubic Hair Ltd" first ... I certainly did ...
Woke up wanted to hear the Lemonhead's It's a Shame About Ray. Classic album.
Ken's Super Duper Band 'n Stuff - Berkeley Social Scene - Tiny Robots - Seamus Collective - Semolina Pilchards - Cutie Pies - Explino! - Bravo Bros. - 2 from 14 - and more!

Oh, and after It's a Shame About Ray, I suddenly needed to hear RUN-DMC You Be Illin'.

Pixies - Indie Cindy. I dragged my feet over whether to listen to this or not, but finally am. I must admit that it is much better than I thought it would be. I was less than thrilled with the songs they released as mini-EPs or whatever, but the album as a whole I think is very good. Falls somewhere between Bossanova and Trompe L'Monde, sonically. Hazy vocals, hooks, Santiago-isms on guitar, odd themes and good beats. Sure, Kim Deal isn't here, but Black Francis sounds more like Black Francis than Frank Black. Give it a go.

I like it a lot. I ordered it when they had a pre-release with a free t-shirt.
Kim Deal is doing new cool stuff. Not sure of the album release date yet.

Sounds pretty similar to SOS to me. Not a bad thing, of course.
I'm a big Ween fan (probably one of the more obvious influences for The Chocolate Chips) and I'm listening to Aaron Freeman's solo album Freeman (Aaron Freeman = Gene Ween) ... it's pretty good on first listen but not sure if it grabs me like the best Ween stuff does
I listened to the new Weezer album quite a bit last week. It is maybe better than some of their more recent past albums, but not nearly as good as the first two. After listening to it a few times I wanted to hear some real metal.

If fluffy and caravan Ray had a baby, it would be Milky Chance Stolen Dance.
When I first heard the song a few months ago, I thought, holy crap, this sounds like fluffy singing. Then the chorus kicked in and I thought, holy crap, this sounds like caravan Ray!
I like these guys and have been listening to their other stuff the past couple weeks. German folk/pop.
I think it's the nasally sound in the chorus and hard pronunciation that sounds like CR. The fluffy sound in the verses, I'm not sure. Maybe the solemn atonal vibe.
