There is no 16-bar maximum. That “rule” got thrown out on day 2 the first year. :)

Wow, my reading comprehension of the Novembeat web site is turning out to be very poor.

I’m trying to figure out how to improve the phrasing without losing the history or making it confusing. Suggestions/PRs welcome!

I was keen to attempt something every day this month but didn't get around to anything on day one, so TIME MAKES FOOLS OF US ALL, I guess. Anyway I managed something today! My songs will go here:

Really enjoyed the first tracks from both of you above!

Awesome track! I've added your playlist to the site, please keep it growing. :)

Also I added a FAQ about song length since this is probably the #1 thing that keeps coming up.

Should we post our new beats here ... ? Or just add to our playlists. I set up my volcas and pocket operator again this time through some guitar pedals so as to avoid applying effects in post processing.

I am not the boss of you.

Do add them to the playlist so they show up on the website though.

I guess if we're all posting our updates here's my #2:

I've been recording things this November... toying with the idea of November Solo Album Writing Month but the stuff coming out is... maybe more suited for this? At any rate, when I get around to uploading the stuff to soundcloud I'll post here.

Egads, I forgot to add: I'm enjoying what I've heard so far from all three of y'all.

#2 from me. I was working on a cheesy romantic piano sorta thing but then my beat was the wrong tempo so I did something completely different instead. Keeping my sexy piano in reserve for another day...

 I was just asking for opinions/plans, but whatever.

I just had a chance to listen to your stuff fluffy and Vom, it was all very enjoyable. I particularly liked your "Nice Peloton, Dickheads" track, Vom!

This is fun! It feels good to be making some stuff again. I just bought a used Waldorf Streichfett on Friday and am pondering using that today. We'll see. It will make my setup more complicated because I'll need to have a MIDI keyboard to control it vs just going strictly with all standalone hardware.

Thanks! "Nice Peloton, Dickheads" was an off-the-cuff insult from my partner towards a group of road-hogging cyclists a while back. It's a very satisfying turn of phrase.

Really enjoying listening as well as creating. Particularly enjoyed the chiptune-y elements in both of your second songs!

I'm hoping I'll be able to keep the momentum going, and am keen to explore some different styles. I've got vague plans to try making some music on an iPad on my lunch break this week but we'll see how that goes.

#3 for me. Not very happy with this one but I was having a fibromyalgia flareup and couldn't really concentrate.

#3 for me, not very happy with it and no excuse. I had some technical difficulties getting set up since I was trying to do something silly and use my very expensive Mac Pro computer. What a silly person I am to expect that to actually work the first time. I should have expected that my DAW app wouldn't launch and the computer would refuse to force quit anything properly and wouldn't restart or shut down either until I got down under my desk and physically power cycled it. Anyway. The reason for using the computer was to try out the waldorf streichfett synth I just got. It's cool. Not sure I totally love it.

fluffy, that big change-up at 1:30 is really cool!

Sam, some good synth sounds in there and I really like how you've used filtering creatively to add dynamics.

Hopefully I'll manage something today, but creativity is so much harder after a full day of work, ugh

More bleep bloop. I went back to live jamming again since using a DAW feels tedious and super time consuming now. I did a few takes and felt like this one was going to have to be good enough.

had a frustrating day and decided to calm myself down by getting ahead with a chill piano improv thing

Really enjoyed those last two! I struggled with my third but dragged my SK-5 out of the cupboard for the main melody and now it's vaguely interesting at least...
