I'm not a huge synth guy, but I've very much enjoying your synth jams, Lunkhead.
Oh cool, thanks! I'm enjoying your songs too.
I started writing a guitar rock song today but I only got as far as writing verse/pre-chorus/chorus parts and starting to sequence some drums. Then I got sidetracked and ran out of time. I only had time for yet another synth jam tonight. Tomorrow I'm hoping to mix things up a bit.

A very fast post punk song. Over on the FAWM boards someone asked something like "Is it okay if I am mostly instrumental" and the first line of this song was born. *shrug*

Ha. I like that one.
Another synth jam here. I tried to go a little different, I think I've got some different textures and tonalities and am varying things in different ways. Tomorrow night is a BSS night so that will be my music for tomorrow. Maybe Wednesday I'll really mix things up, or probably I'll be lazy and make another synth jam.

A pretty quick one that's a little sloppy. Country for a (slight) change.

Hi friends, I've been posting most days to youtube, but I keep forgetting to check in on this thread. I'm excited to listen to all the stuff in here!
Here's my Day 7:

I just sent in a solo song for "Something's Wrong" so... won't be posting it anywhere until the songs are posted on site.

Tonight I made a synth jam plus played guitar live along with the synths at the same time. That was fun. I intend to do something using my reface CP soon.

Future Boy - Enjoyed watching the little pattern going while listening. I just listened again so you have something going on.
Lunkhead - I've liked a lot of what you've been doing with the synth jams. I love how you've combined the guitar. It sounds like a well arranged song.

Another country G&G song... I'm thinking I'm gonna have to start a friggin' country band after this Jamuary thing is done...

I'm kinda falling off the rails here. :/ Last night I got stuck at work and was late to Instant Band Night and didn't have time to make music outside of that. Now we've got a friend visiting for the weekend so I had to dismantle my synth setup so our office/studio can be a guest room. I may be unable to make music for a couple days.

*comfort* Do the best you can with what you have.
Also, what is instant Band Night?

Oh man, Instant Band Night is this super fun local event that Ken found out about that he and I have been going to for about a year now. It happens once every two months, and it's like a cross between an open mic and Song Fight and improv. When you show up, you write your name on scraps of paper and put the scraps into coffee cans indicating what you want to do that night: drums, bass, guitar, misc, vocals, art (each band has somebody who draws a gig poster for them while they perform). Then everybody is randomly formed into bands over the course of the night, and you have 5 minutes backstage with your new instant random band to pick a band name and plan and rehearse what you're going to do on stage, then you go on stage for 5 minutes. You can do anything musical that you want, covers or jams or originals or whatever you can manage to put together. It's a blast!
That sounds both terrifying and wonderful. I wonder if I could get some musician buddies to pull something like that locally. Also, I wonder if this pit in my stomach would go away if I were to actually suggest it.

Ha, yes, that is it exactly, "terrifying and wonderful".

Alt Country instead of country.. totally not the same... heh. I seriously need to start an alt country band at this point:

Bonus Jamuary song... I'm in a private songwriting group where we write a song every week and I totally forgot this week (even with six days since the prompt was posted.. nearly seven.) So here's another one. And I did a rock song for a change of pace.

Here's another acoustic song. Guy and guitar as per my fall back plan. I've also been working on the Evil Grin songfight submission today but it's not done yet, so...

Dang, you've got skills. I should practice playing the piano/keyboard... I'll add it to my list of things I'll never get around to doing.
I agree. It turned out pretty well.

Ooh, very nice. Your Rhodes and playing still sound awesome.
I set my synth gear back up tonight thinking I might try to get back on track. But then I started up my desktop computer and it refused to pair with my trackpad. I tried a lot of things and could not get it to pair with the trackpad or the Bluetooth music keyboard I have. No idea what is up with that. Still haven't gotten that working. I have a wired USB mouse though so that didn't really sink me. Unfortunately my audio interface also would not turn on. I tried unplugging and replugging power and USB over and over, in different outlets, different USB ports, etc. Nothing worked. I paid only $135 for it over 5 years ago so I thought maybe it'd just died. Just now I tried plugging it into my laptop to check that. Still nothing. But then while plugged in to the laptop I unplugged the power and USB from the back of the interface and plugged them back in and somehow it came back to life. So I switched it over to the desktop and it's still on. I think tomorrow I can back to it then, hopefully, minus my trackpad, which will be a nuisance but not a show stopper. This super expensive "pro" Mac has been the least reliable computer I've had in 20 years.
