The Song Fight Bulletin Board

In, albeit a little late.

Just finished recording and mixing, about to submit. I never did come up with a good approach to the topic so the lyrics are pretty much free-associative nonsense and also pretty much my best Robert del Naja impression.

My brother hit on the brother baker entry.

I also submitted a FireBear song with a ukulele and using a dried seed pod I found at the park as a shaker.

Oof! Made it in late. I wasn't too sure about the optional challenge, even though examples were given so went with a stripped-down Bob Dylan approach. Would've rather gone Daniel Johnston, but I had run out of time. I managed to trouble a harmonica on this song, so that was something new for me. Oh, Phlebia suggested handclaps so I threw a few of those in there. They're not real though, I tried real handclaps and hurt my palms (how do you get a nice handclap recording?). Anyway, huzzah!

In with a 2x4 lap steel bass, five bari parts, vocals, and drums. I feel like I at least captured the instrumentation of Morphine, if not the actual sound. Had a lot of fun with this.
