The Song Fight Bulletin Board

I’m in with something kind of dark and kind of weird.

I made it in with a little ditty I threw together at the last minute. Major flubs: got the title wrong, forgot all about optional challenge. Did the bulk of it in a hurry today so it's probably raw and not the very best it could've been. I did have fun with this though. While I did my best in a rush, I imagine the mix is probably suffering from something or another This time I tried giving a listen on earbuds and found the mix needed adjusting. It is a pretty loud, raucous song - maybe a bit too much. I feel like drinking with the devil would either be some intimate, Tom Waits kind of thing, or a screeching rock song. I went rock, but with a touch of brown.

In. Now I'll try to finish the "reviews" of "Miss Lovely Eyes."

As usual, saving the vocals for the last bit cause they're usually the thing I have the least ideas for what do with. I can't quite tame this one particular frequency I don't like in my guitar tone but I'll probably fight with it a bit more. Mixing is hard.

In in with a departure into the realms of dance music. It was all done in a rush on Sun and I'm hoping it stands up to scrutiny.

Didn’t get my crap together enough for this one.
Based on the timing of the next one I’ll probably miss that as well.
Sigh.

This title inspired me to write a short, gentle musical rant about eco-evangelists and the government that enables them by passing nonsensical laws or regulations that nominally help the environment, but are ineffective at everything except injecting unnecessary complications in ordinary people’s lives. I don’t use the words ‘drink’ or ‘devil’ in the song, but sometimes I must admit the devil could be a preferred drinking partner. I have submitted and started a pitcher of Magaritas.

Had the music and words figured out but ran out of time to record so not gonna make this one.
