Cool keyboard opening; it sounds like background music from a 60s Roger Corman movie. Actually the whole song seems to belong to a movie soundtrack. As it blasts out the cinema speakers, the credits roll and everyone stands up and leaves.

This gets my vote. I wasn't going to vote in the fight at all because there wasn't enough really voteworthy going on, but this song is so completely realized it's got to be admired. I really love how you took the standard 12-bar blues progression and twisted it to these unusual chords instead. I think it's probably really hard to make a song sound that apocolyptic but not be completely out of control, but you've managed it here. I'm picturing that devil guy with the enormous horns played by Tim Curry in the movie Legend. Great job.

Thanks Jim. The song was very much realized by my buddy Chad and I. I especially love the Tim Curry concept. That rings soooooo true you can not even imagine how much I feel that you nailed the essence of this song with that description. He really is a Funeral Director from hell. If I ever write a musical about a Necrophiliac in a Funeral Home in the guise of a Funeral Director, Tim Curry would be topping that list. Draft thanks you for the review and the vote.

comfort my cousin gave it a 3/10 and decided it was not worth talking about... my attempts at singing make me feel self-conscious... and i notice every single out of tune bit... =P

the landstander with a bit of noise reduction i'd be happy. but i really really like everything else. great voice. great guitar and great delivery. i like the mellow approach. i want to hear more. i could listen to an album of this.

raw strength and courage hehehe... this has a retro vibe to it... like heart or 1970's rock. i like the song structure. would like the drums to be a bit more present.

The Landstander would be one half of the great acoustic rock duo Hello to Ruin (kinda surprised no one's drawn that connection yet as I believe it was drawn in earlier fights a few months ago.. however I believe the last two fights have been somewhat better, so perhaps this means I don't sound as horrid) and one forth of the Landstanders, who, I must add, sound completely different as the rest of them can actually play instruments.. Just to let you know; I bought a guitar about a year ago, I have been using the internet to teach myself how to play, and although the internet as been somewhat helpful, I really don't know much more than I did when I started. In regards to the fight: I am sorry; I didn't realize the fret squeaks were so loud until after I listened to it on here.

Yes, I too am a veteran through the first gulf war and believe that every man should serve to protect this country (if we don't then who will?).

I have my own disappointments with our leaders but due to my lack of musical talent i can only enjoy every week of songfight and try to encourage as many people as i can to listen to Songfight because i believe in what you guys are doing, and want to make sure you get the recognition that you deserve. However, i don't like to encourage people to listen to talented musicians such as yourself, strip our country through your words but thought it would be cool (as i stated in my original post) to see and hear some cool songs about other governments and their leaders that don't have the balls to say anything, or stir the pot but are happy to sit and watch things boil...

Ck out Tim Hinkle's song this week.... it is badass and extremely powerful...
