Hey, all I wanted to do was get together with the Bay Area Songfighters while I happened to be in town.

And all I wanted to do was give you a hard time about posting in this thread. It's the natural order of things.

Because muckracking on a forum for a community you don't participate in anymore is a great way to make and retain friends.

Hey, I'm just giving you a hard time, Francis. It's the natural order of things.

So anyway, my flight arrives tomorrow at SFO at about Noon, so the earliest I can be in downtown San Fran is around 1 PM, but probably later. So I could meet up with folks for a late lunch, but probably what would work better is a mid-afternoon meetup at Amoeba and then we all go out for dinner or something.
Does that sound good? Also, I think I have Ken's cellphone number and I know I have blue's home number, so I guess that'd be enough for seeding the gathering at least. You have my number too, right, Ken? (206 area code) In case you don't, its your cellphone number minus 3041854508 (and it's blue's home number minus 4440962833).
(Yay shared-key cryptography!)

there's a parking lot next to Kezar stadium that validates for Amoeba i think. If not, it's still not expensive and usually plentiful, and it's an easy walk around the corner to amoeba.
otherwise, i'd say try to find a spot along the panhandle.

Are we talking about the same Amoeba? I meant the one by Haight nd Stanyan.

yes. that's the only amoeba in san francisco.
and it's actually closer to frederick, not stanyan. stanyan is like 10 blocks away.

Well I don't know my way around there so well, just that my sister lives on Stanyan and Hayes and I visited her for a week several months ago and Amoeba was like RIGHT THERE and was on Haight.
So anyway. Tomorrow a meetup at Amoeba? What time?

haha. you're right. it is stanyan. i'm on crack. but there really is a parking lot around the corner (on stanyan and frederick, next to kezar....frederick and haight run parallel) that validates. i think.

So, uh, am I actually going to meet up with anyone or will I be hanging around a record store like a dork for six hours?

Was a time ever set for this?
I can certainly meet up for a few hours.

Like I told Ken by phone and Jack and Blue by email (assuming the message went out), my flight was delayed 3 hours, and by the time I got my car and everything I was feeling too drained/annoyed to actually head over to San Fran. So hopefully we can meet up in Palo Alto some evening, which apparently is easier for everyone to get to anyway.
(And anyway, going to Amoeba isn't such a huge deal for me ever since I discovered Easy Street Records in Seattle, which is very similar, though on a smaller scale.)

My, but it's nice to be missed. I did indeed consider a "Brimming With Tears" entry, but my time has not been my own lately.
In keeping with the original tone of this thread, I want to announce that I will be visiting my family in North Carolina over the holidays. Up until then, I will just be at home as usual.
Sorry if I'm late; I didn't realize we were making each other aware of our whereabouts.
