Set up live gigs with each other, announce gigs you're playing around the country or whatever, talk about how the show went, post links to recordings, etc.
I'd say best avoid April 15 as it's the Easter weekend and may cause scheduling problems with some. Also it's the day before my 1st anniversary... she would no longer approve...
And yes the lack of snow has been extremely lame. 60 degrees in January?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Up until March 12th I'm gonna be busy with the musical at my school, and I just wouldn't have time to organise it.
March 17-18th or April 1st could be good. Of course March 17th is St Patricks Day, and April 1st is Fools Day. Should make it, uh, fun. But both weekends work for my family and I. I'll call up the venue tomorrow or tonight and find out some more info.
I could see carpooling w/ anybody from the greater-Ohio area, too, so long as I'm not transporting drums... *smile*
Philly would rock, BTW. I really, really want to tour Eastern State Penitentiary.
I agree w/ Frankie's assessment of shooting for the March timeframe.

The venue I mentioned earlier wanted waaaay too much money, so screw that. However, there's a place I've enquired about on Saturday April 1st from 3pm-11pm. It's nice and cheap and is literally 30 seconds walk from the previous venue, but about 10% of the cost (March 18th was booked, and anything before that I couldn't go to. So April 1st was the next best thing. It's juuuust in the March timeframe )
So before I book it, is the night of April 1st good for people?

PS. this is NOT an April fools joke. Venue genuinely available and we are happy to host, arrange and facilitate

Pending GF approval, I'll be there to listen, at the least.

April 1 is "okay". We will be traveling around that time but not on that same weekend, so it's currently open.
It is looking like this is more likely than California, although I'm still going to try for the Big Event.

Saturday April 1st, 7pm-11pmish. The venue(it's a pretty nice sized 'community' room apart from the actual church, just run by it) will be available from 3pm to dump any stuff you want to bring/set up/sound check/anything else. There's a bar at the top of the road. There's a coffeeshop over the street. There's tons of restaurants. And it's about 2 minutes walk from the train station. Real central and whatnot.
I guess we can organise other stuff nearer the time, it's still 2 and a bit months off. But either way, if you're in the area, keep the weekend free and you can come hang out. Tell your friends too and whatnot. And y'know, I'll be there. So you know you want to come.

Roy, you know as far as Bjam and I are concerned there doesn't have to be an excuse for you to take a visit down to our area. If you are feeling in a performy mood and don't mind the coffee-shop environment we could suggest you to the local Gryphon cafe for one of their Friday/Saturday nights. Its pretty minimal pay, but it would at least give you an excuse.
Aside from that have fun in CO.

Yeah, I meant bummer not there. CO will be rocking!
Thanks for the invite and pointers and I may do that...just want to make best use of the little time I have. I'll try and drop in on other SF happenings.

this is only 5 hours from me (give or take), so by april it should totally be do-able for me. but i'm really poor at the moment and trying to find a second job, so we'll see what happens. there's no way i could make any commitments, but i'd love to make this show.
My GF says that we are "go" for coming out to this event. We're gonna drive from Ohio on Friday, stay somewhere Friday night, then do some touristy stuff on Saturday morning before the show.
I'm going to concentrate on trying to write a few new things before the show. Consider me a "we need somebody else to perform" player, for now, please.
If we want my drum set (same set we used in Boston), I can bring it along as well. Hauling it to Boston was no sweat, and it makes me feel warm and fuzzy that the drum set is actually being used for something other than sitting in my living room.
Rock.

Rockin', RxW and Landfills...
Yes, we should assemble some groups soon.
How much time are we planning on per performer? This is a one-night gig, right?
