Sleeper-Thornberry

Id rather you be asleep thatn
Walking through life
Like you think you know it all
So please go curl up for a
Minute or two
The stop from waking up

Behold
You're lovin all the strangers
you see
But all the while your being robbed blind
So carry on
You sleeper fool

You think you'll change the world with
A Bumper sticker
Like you know more than the rest
When it comes to action you just
Sit around
With a picket in your hand

Sleeper

I must've came to
After I blacked out
Familiar faces
Looking down on me
How long have I been
knocked unconscious
I don't feel the same
Doubled up in payments

to the hospital
'Cause they took care of me
Not only this time
But in the past as well
This gets expensive
With every visit
Someone's at my door
And it's five twenty-three

CHORUS

I've been sleeping
for both day and night
but now I wake up to find
everything is not all kosher right now

I had been comfortable
in my new bed
my mind was throbbing
and so I grabbed my Advil
I took some water
swallowed the pills down
I reached for mouthwash
and swished it all vigorously

I looked at the clock
and my heart sank
Almost late for work
And so I paniced
If I'm not there soon
I'm unemployed now
I rushed out to my car
I made it there but don't know why

(Repeat Chorus)

Why is it when I sleep
that I don't get quite enough
and you know I'll be tired
and go through life half awake
and I'll make more missed steps
and fall right down on my side

Sleeper - Sausage Boy

I go out on Tuesdays
I go to the movies
Its cheaper on Tuesdays
Going to the movies

I don’t care what I see
I don’t care where I sit
I don’t buy popcorn
I put my feet on the seats

I’m not the one
With my mobile on
I’m not the one
Talking loudly
I’m not the one
Who brought the kids
I’m not the one
Slurping on my drink
I am slouched
I am hunched
My eyes closed
Relaxing time
Even the ushers
Ignore me

I am the sleeper

Even before the movie starts
I am sound asleep
Snoring through the adverts
Mumbling to myself

By the starting credits
I’m in R.E.M sleep
I twitch and toss
Bumping those around me

I am the sleeper

By the time
We get to somewhere good
I’m sleepwalking
Around the room
Don’t wake the sleeper
Its bad luck
To wake the sleeper
Don’t wake the sleeper
I slept through Royal Tananbaums
I slept through Lord of the Rings
I slept through Titanic
I slept through Star Wars
I slept through the Ring
I slept through every comic book film
I slept through romantic comedies
I rather enjoyed Anchorman

I am the sleeper
Don’t wake the sleeper
I am the sleeper
Don’t wake the sleeper

sleeper

the other day i went over to my friend paulie's house because he wasn't in school and he never misses school and when i got to his house which is just down the street from mine his mom answered the door and i said "where's paulie" and she said "he's in his room he's sleeping" so i said "what is he sick or something" and she said "no he's not sick he's just sleeping" and that didn't make any sense to me so i asked if i could go in and see him and she said i couldn't she said

don't wake the sleeper - he isn't ready for it
don't wake the sleeper - he'll leave you screaming in pain
don't wake the sleeper - just leave the sleeper alone

and she had this look in her eye like she was i don't know she was terrified i guess which didn't make much sense to me because paulie's about ninety pounds and maybe four feet tall and he had to be sick because he wasn't in school and it was salisbury steak day and that's his favorite so i pushed past his mom and i went into his room and he was lying in the bed and i said "hey paulie get up what's the matter" and then paulie got up and gave me a chuck norris roundhouse to the head and he said

don't wake the sleeper - he isn't ready for it
don't wake the sleeper - he'll leave you screaming in pain
don't wake the sleeper - just leave the sleeper alone

don't wake the sleeper - he isn't ready for it
don't wake the sleeper - just leave the sleeper alone
he'll wake the sleeper - he'll leave you screaming in pain

don't wake the sleeper

Sleeper - deshead

Over sleeper,
here's the morning coming on too soon
Over sleeper.
You've got the whole day to think
of the whole night you just did to yourself.

Sure, I missed the bus that morning back in New York
waiting for my head to clear,
but if I'd had a say there'd be nowhere, no way I'd get in.

Lately the more I see of my days
the more I'm running from here.
5 blocks over, uptown,
I've got my old scene waiting for me there!

I miss the buzz of early-morning relief,
lying with my head on the ground.
I've got the whole world forever holding me down.

I like it better in the morning.
If I can get it, I'll take it, in the morning
It takes me up ...

Sleeper (The BeWells)

Perchance to dream of visions unseen as the night reveals
Arise to find that which dormant lies in the light of day
Desires that hide there hold them tightly til dawn arises
The morning sky with colors afire blaze in orange and blue

Trying to remember those things
You used to say you would do
Searching for something to help
You recall the way it was

Life can be hard and sometimes your charm may not be enough
Do what you can if not what you want somehow make it through
But try to see inspite of what's been locked away inside
Dreams take you there with memories bared can you be yourself

I still remember those things
We used to say we would do
Longing for someway to help
You recall the way it was

It's hard to think that you could not see and lost sight of hope
But I'm here now on this patch of ground while you sleep beneath
My turn to dream and you're here with me laughter fills the air
With our goodbyes you're so full of life you finally found

You tried to remember those things
You used to say you would do
Searching for something to help
You recall the way it was

I still remember the way we were
I still remember, remember you

Sleeper
-------------
Octothorpe

Cars drive on the streets.
Cooly griping the asphalt.

Driving home to his family.
Dripping oil from the engine.

Voimir has a job and kids.
Villianous in his intent.

Words are spoken every day.
What phrase will trigger him.

Satellites watch for activity.
Sadly they don't know.

[Begin Chorus]
Family.
Friends.
Forgiveness.
Fights.

Apples.
Arson.
Army.
Activity.

Timing.
Tacos.
Traffic.
Travel.

Sheep.
Slaughter.
Silence.
Sleeper.
[End Chorus]

The phone rings in the den.
This is the call to trigger.

Voimir answers the phone.
Voices say the magic phrase.

Tomorrow his mission resumes.
Then is when trouble begins.

His wife puts the kids to sleep.
Happly smiling at him.

Thinking of his wonderful life.
Thoughts of the impeding doom.

[Chorus]

Airport is the home of planes.
Also its the destination.

Traffic of people going places.
Taxis take Voimir there.

Verified by presenting papers.
Voimir gets on the plane.

Lucy is on flight 56.
Lucky, for the plane is safe.

Traveling to the town of Denver.
Tacos are the in flight lunch.

[Chorus]

Landing on-time in Dever.
Laughing in his brain.

Confidently he goes downtown.
Conditions look good today.

Placing his hat on his head.
Pacing and waiting in the square.

Arson wasn't the plan.
A simple drop off for today.

Barely finished with his task.
Back home he is headed.

"Sleeper" by Heuristics Inc.

uses Tapegerm loops by... er... I gotta check that
uses samples from "Sleep for Health" (1950) supplied by the Internet Moving Images Archive (at archive.org) in association with Prelinger Archives.

"In sleep, the muscles of the body are relaxed. It's the most perfect way to relax that we have."

"Our breathing is slower and deeper when we sleep. The body's temperature is lower. Even the heart beats more slowly. The whole body is resting."

rip van winkle
went to sleep one day
didn't wake up for 20 years
i think he was a bit late

"To rest all our muscles, we turn in our sleep. Some people turn often, others not so often. But we all do it. It's a normal part of sound, healthy sleep."

did he love the kaaterskill?
why did he oversleep?
did he forget his alarm
underneath his tree?

"Dreams are normal too. Often they're suggested by the things around us while we sleep."

was he rested when he woke?
did he recognize the world?
he missed the revolution
but did he miss his wife?

SLEEPER

Wake me up
Wake me up

I sure you'd like to tear your brain
You know it's wrong, though not sure why

It Burns
Well Hidden
Burns

I don't wanna be a sleeper
I don't want to be a sleeper

Wake me Up
Wake me Up

Alone in crowds, you shuffle through meat
Your friends are worried, but you can't hear

It Burns
Well Hidden
Burns

I don't wanna be a sleeper
I don't want to be a sleeper

Wake me Up
Wake me Up

That's right
It burns
Well
Hidden
It Burns

You tell yourself it's a gem, not a curse
It is what someone would have wanted

Well who the fuck are they?

Sleeper
By Ross Durand

Your eyes are closed,
Can’t see what’s going on around you
The world out here is changing a lot
It’s time to wake up

You’re in a dream world
So you see what you want to see
But it’s a nightmare for us out here everyday
I think it’s time you woke up

Sleeper
Can you hear me?
It’s time to wake up
I want to shake you

Deep in your covers
You’re sheltered from what’s really out here
But you can’t hide forever
You’ve been sleeping way too long
And we need you

Sleeper
Can you hear me?
It’s time to wake up!

Kamakura's Sleeper

Midnight struck and he lay in bed
Tossing: tossing and turning to get
to sleep
1,2, 3, 4am followed and he was sinking
Into the shadows dark and bleak

Cascading coruscated colours
But the sleeper dreamt in black and white
He never knew
Cold chasms catch the spirit as it flies
And the poor old sleeper
Fell in there too

Dreams are sent to try us
Dreams have a story to tell
Dreams have a way to prophesy
The best and the darkest of our days
Bleakest and finest of our lives

A tooth for a tooth and an eye for an eye
The sleeper dreamt
Hardly high but comatose
On the valley floor he found her
Swimming in a pond surrounded by Satyrs and Ghosts
And though he never knew quite what it meant
Freud and Einstein laughed a lot at the local bar.
"There are two means of refuge from the miseries of life: music and cats." - Albert Schweitzer

Sleeper by Calfborg

Well I can try to eat out an empty pan
But that don't mean I'll get my food
I can try to escape from this mutant
The hate it brings consumes me
I heard it through my ear
That something's in my blood
It took me just one day
To die

The Sleeper is a mutant that kills my brain
The Sleeper can't take what I can't hate
So when it comes and I don't see that sun
I know that the Sleeper will kill me

It's underground beneath my feet
The carcass sinks beneath me too
The earth consumes the mutant
The hate it brings consumes my brain
The heat won't come from the sun
The earth melts in mutant hate
In space there's something inside
The Demon's heart is cold

The Sleeper is a mutant that kills my brain
The Sleeper is a human that sinks below
So when it comes and I don't see that sun
The earth can't take what I can't hate

The Sleeper's heart is cold
The earth melts in mutant hate

The Sleeper is a mutant that kills my brain
The Sleeper is a human that sinks below
So when it comes and I don't see that sun
The earth can't take what I can't hate

Zombie Queen
Step back muthafucka she's the queen of the dead
Zombie Queen
Keep yo hands to yoself or it's yo muthafuckin' ass
Zombie Queen
She'll peel back your brainpan and eat your fuckin' brain
Zombie Queen
I'm tellin' you man

She's known as the sleeper
Don't you dare come close
She will eat your flesh and
Turn your bones to dust

Human Maggot
You better fuckin' run if you see him comin' round
Human Maggot
Nasty muthafucka and he smells like the dump
Human Maggot
He don't give a fuck cause all he wants is shit
Human Maggot
Just stay out of his way

He's known as the sleeper
Grotesque, sick, and vile
He'll seep into your skin and
Feast upon your guts

El Balazo

A simple man from the town of El Balazo
Lived a peaceful life until he lost his home
Banditos came and they dragged him to the outlands
Left him with nothing but the distant memory of El Balazo

He wandered long through unmarked desert wasteland
Until his tired feet could carry him no more
And as he fell he could see a distant village
And as he slipped away his thoughts again returned to El Balazo

When he awoke a senorita sat beside him
She found him in the sand and tended to his wounds
And as he lay he could feel his strength returning
And with it came the faded memory of his home in El Balazo

She lived alone and she begged him to stay with her
He said he had to go but he promised to return
And when his deed was done he would be with her forever
And with her gun in hand he began the journey home to El Balazo

The man’s return was an unrepentant bloodbath
And when the smoke had cleared no one remained alive
The senorita came to find the man in tatters
She took her gun and shook her head and left the dead in El Balazo

Glenn Case (Featuring Rachael Layne)
El Balazo

CHORUS

I'm fine, or I thought so
I need El Balazo
Turns out I have got no
choice I need a quick syringe

I don't like the needle
Don't trust all these people
Advice seems so evil
Time to shoot up again

Verse One

Sharp steel - injected
pin prick - now check it
high range - detected
just another fucked up day

It's pain - it's normal
bruised up - informal
Routine - It's torture
and it's - never - better
There is nothing wrong with me

(REPEAT CHORUS)

Verse Two

What were - the chances?
That I - have had this
So long - Not knowing
And where is this going?

I am - not healing
I've lost - all feeling
Quick jabs - repeating
Energy depleting
El Balazo, you are cruel

"El Balazo" Sung by Kelsea Rhamgren

You take the side thats living
You wants odds that are fitting

Call both the men to arms
Which reactions brews with force
On the road to el derado
you encounter el balazo

And we're all waiting for
A technicality
All sets of guns hot with
a Chastity
I spy the truth hangs off the
Jailers Key
For both outlaws it is
a Novelty

Sirs, Draw your western Swords
ANd fire up a storm
Then Wait for both to die
Or see which once survived

El Balazo
------------
by Octothorpe

Crunch on the cheese
Mice scurry through the jungle

Climb up the trunk
Vines are wraped up to the top

Gwen is in disguise
She runs up the trees like a cat

Perched on a branch
Blended in like gourmet coffee

The sun is setting
Light shifts through the leafs

[Begin Chorus]
From the jungle.
Made of trees.

To the jungle.
Made of concrete.

Find the man.
Take the shot.

Encuentres el hombre.
Tomes el balazo.
[End Chorus]

Glinting light
Angular reflections on glass

Guards smoke pipes
Blooms of ash and plumes of smoke

Over the wall
Gwen slides down into the complex

Face painted black
Shadows are dark and guards are lax

Like no one can
She moves along the walls of concrete

[Chorus]

Silently inside
Moving quickly through the halls

Kick down the door
She finds the Columbian man

One shot ... boom
Three seconds and the deed is done

Thirty seconds more
Over the wall and into the jungle

Like a lightning strike
In a flash Gwen hits and is gone

El Balazo by Calfborg

Protect your village from systematic killing
Arrest the victims for showing some resistance
Smothered with a tent that covered
Everyone around the resistance of whom nobody governed
We can't stop them
They've got the monster
Everybody's dying since nobody's living
And the air out there isn't fit for breathing
Not everybody's dead but the creatures take over
The sun comes out, the survivors take cover
Humans thought they were safe
Now the human race is kept in a cage

El Balazo
Tex Beaumont & the Dirty Hearts

I was out in west Mexico
With my shoes losing leather cos my car won't go
On my way to Tijuana with a stolen iguana
And a ring meant for the finger of a woman who looked me square in the eye and said:
"Tex, I don't think so..."

And through the heat shimmer I see right in front of me
A cantina rising up through the burning sand
Like a Lord God given sanctuary, and I thought:
"This looks like a good place to sit and pull the shattered remains of my life together"
Then a pretty senorita beckoned to me
She beckoned to me

Buenos dias Senor, I know what you're here for
Tequila!
El Balazo Tequila!
Aye-yi-yi. El mucho bueno
I think you gonna like it
Yes you will!

I drank El Balazo tequila and I started howling like a dog
I saw the stars and the planets and the worlds collide
I saw the universe through the eyes of God
I fell down
I hit the ground
My head was spinning round and round
My eyes watered
My nose ran
I said "Senorita, hit me again"

El Balazo - deshead

My buddy sez: "You know, it's in the Upper Haight where suburban kids come hang out,
beggin' for props and change (like it's either that they need,)
with mom at home, she's a divorcée,
and dad on the town with his latest prey,
a vegan babe with long blond hair
but dad still likes his meat."
  • Good fish tacos next door to Wasteland.
    Salsa bar, Mexican beer.
Painted tables, next door to Wasteland.
No, I don't mind stopping here.
And my buddy sez, "hey, you ever notice how's there's like all these Mexican dishes?
Burritos, enchiladas, chimichangas, etc.
But if you ask me, "what's in a name?
What's inside?" You know it's all the same.
It's all beans'n'meat wrapped in a shell with a little bit of cheese..."
