Seeing as # is famous for their long string of fights, NOT fighting would seem to be the opposite of an homage. If you want to honor octothorpe, get in the ring.

Dang straight. I agree. Y'know what, I haven't done a solo SF song since last year (Mean To Me). Even I'll attempt to get a song out for this week in honor of the #.

I was busy with final papers, then final exams, entertaining my parents, who visited for graduation, and finding a job. Now that that stuff is all over, I actually have time again. I had a great idea for "Covered in Bugs," but I didn't have a chance to make it. Maybe I will just for shits. I will try my best to bang something out for this week's titles. I have a week. I can do it! :D

i havent submitted yet but i will be entering ' saving throw ' this week.

I don't like any of the titles, so I'll be missing my 3rd fight in a row.

I'm going to take the extra week to work on music though, so the next song I submit will hopefully be of higher quality.

It's Saint Gratus for me, and the song's done. I even managed to resist the urge to rhyme his name with "flatus."

The Cow Exchange is in this week! I've got all the music recorded, just have to pick a title now . Probably Saving Throw.

Would it be a waste of my time to remind you, just in case, that music made for a fight should be inspired by the title, not prepared in advance??

Y'know. Yeah, you could cheat the system and do a full song and then just alter one line to include the title and win Songfight and hip-hurrah. But that isn't the idea of Songfight. Go make a song and put it on somesongs if you want to make a song in more than a week. A song on Songfight is about everything. Do you get reviews based on just lyrics? No. You get reviews based on the song; lyrics, music, beat, everything. Everything makes a song. Do a song.

That said. Plat and I are in for "In The Van", but we are currently band nameless. I guess we should figure something out for that. Heh. We had a sample of my cat for it, but not sure if she'll make the final cut.

A full week is hardly the last second. No matter what you or anyone else may think of your abilities compared to those of another entrant, working on a song in advance of the title announcements is unfair and a shitty thing to do. Like Bjam said, lyrics may be how you choose to make the connection to the title, but this isn't Lyrics-that-Fit-the-Title-Fight.

haha!!! Ratt(tothamuthafuckin)Poizon had to take a break from music making and leave a comment about the song I'm making. this could be the worst thing I've ever made. I cant decide if it's a tango or country western, but I'll put some sitar in there to confuse it even more. and there's no awesome "genre" changes in it. but it should be pretty cool because there's a man in the van, driving 'cross the land..... doing things that I don't understand. 8)

i hear there's some new FAL in the werx.

So I had this awesome collab thing going for Saint Gratus with Des, Leaf, and Big Crouton, but it kind of fell through late in the week. Then last night, at 9:30 pm, I was like, Hey! Why don't I write one for saving throw? So I wrote, recorded, and mixed my song until 11:00. I sent it in, and I just listened to it again. You can pretty much tell it was made in one and a half hours, I'll tell you that much.
