Very poorly done.

It is a violation of the rights of members.

I have a right to sign up with any name I choose.

I also have a right to my privacy.

I am against unelected people having access to private information and distributing it.

Not well done.

Now Jeff is actively lobbying to get me banned from Noodsplz.

We need communities.

But we do not need sole propiety of those communities.

We need the communities to own and administer the communities.

We do not need owners who consider themselves to be irreplaceable parts of the communities.

The members are irreplaceable.

The mods are interchangeable from among the membership.

Maybe then the communities will grow.

As it is now, if a member left and returned in 20 years it would still be the same old mudsuckers posting here.

You have nothing new and dynamic going on.

Maybe a few of you would like to begin starting democratically governed version of Songfight?

Then the two could compete.

I'll place my bet on the democratic one.

Not this.

That's why you can't get good people here.

Just mudsuckers like yourselves.

The current system keeps anybody with any sense out of your forums.

It keeps those who have the highest standards out.

From where do you claim this right to privacy?

I think you are mistaken.

You gave the 'unelected' person your private details. You are a dill.

I think that you really should question your owners about this. Not me.

They know the policies in handling IP info.

You need to call the administrators into accountability.

Not the members.

You got it upsidedown.

As it is clear for everyone to see, no one has been banned here.
As it is clear for everyone to see, we let OTM post whatever he wants, since we have nothing to fear.
As it is clear for everyone to see, if this were (more of) a democratically run organization, OTM would have been banned by now.

As usual, OTM will claim that we are denying banning him.
As usual, OTM will claim that we are repressing him somehow, and that he would all be better off on a (more) democratic board.

Fortunately, the mods here continue to protect OTM's right to say these things.

For now.

I presume I have made OTM's day by responding. Glad to be of service.

No, you are assuming rights you do not have.

You also have a very strange and naive view about the nature of 'democracy'! Why do you think that democracy is something that we should aspire to?

I am totally free.

No mudsucking mod can possibly repress me.

I had to change my IP addy because it was blocked.

I say that the mods should PROVE it.

Report to the members on exactly how many IP numbers are blocked.

Remember that each IP number at a web cafe represents 1000's of potential users and that they are inadvertantly blocking potential Songfight users with each blocking.

Can you account to the membership for who is even moderating?

Maybe Jeff did ity?

And yes, The entire web community will be greatly improved when just a few people begin actively promoting democracy and when democracy comes to it.

And the mudsuckers are not going to stop it from happening.

The web belongs to the trolls.

You are not going to take it away from us.

Wow, that sounds familiar.

Oh, right. We've been suggesting (sans sarcasm) that you do that for as long as you've been here.

Also how do you "begin starting" something? Is that like thinking about considering something? Very meta, I like it.

I like hanging out with these mudsuckers. It's like Hercules hanging out with peasants. It just feels good.

it'd be sweet to post everyone's full personal information in every single f'ing post, including ip address.

that'd stop a lot of bullshit.

(and, yes, cause some more, but..)

So since you don't believe in democracy, why vote for the best song?

Why not have Spud and JB decide that too?

Can you please explain your reasoning behind this.

I would like to hear why you think democracy is so good, and why you think it would be desireable in a community such as this.

I mean - what would you rather have shares in - Microsoft? or the Government of New Zealand? Why subject us to the tyranny of the majority?

C'mon - you've made a lot of noise - why don't you try to make a bit of sense. Enlighten us.

What's so good about subverting the democratic form of building communities?

You've got a better idea?

I don't see it.

Looks like a suckass way to build a community.

There is no growth dynamic here and you can't attract a person who has a brain - ME.

Whenever you are ready to get serious let me know.

Until then - goodbye.
