has convinced me that i need to see this movie more than anything else that has been said in this thread.
It certainly is a perk.

Saw this... LOVED it!

It reminded me of Memento for obvious reasons to those who have seen it. It also reminded me a lot of "What dreams may come" for other reasons.

ROCK!

I've had this lying around my hard-drive for months now, and I finally got round to watching it this evening.

Absolutely fucking brilliant film, but now I want to go hang myself.

Generally speaking I hate Jim Carey (though I don't know why) but I loved this film which I found in a Bargain DVD bin.

Teh Rawks.

I'm about to hang myself at the mention of "The Majestic." But hell yeah - Eternal Sunshine seems more and more like a modern classic. So freakin' good.

yes, i really liked this, but i finally saw adaptation today and like that a whole lot more.

the bit about the insects and the flowers was one of the best bits i've heard in a movie in a long time.

i don't know why i didn't just start a new thread. ah well, too late now. i've already hit submit...

I had it on my hard drive for months before I watched it too!

holy shit

(I identified painfully deeply with Mr. Carrey's character. I have said almost word-for-word so many of the lines he was given in the movie. Charlie Kaufman got way inside my head. Ouch.)

Wow. Weird flick to watch alone. But not sure I'd want to watch it with anybody. Also, awesome.

I actually prefer watching this kind of movie, and most movies, alone. Less distractions. When I watch movies with other people they always end up talking and I miss stuff. The only kind of movies I like to watch with others are the kind that are pure entertainment and don't require much in the way of thinking.

Yeah. I posted because I can. I don't know what the point was. Anyone else agree with my preference?

I agree. If I actually want to see a movie I either watch it on my own or with a friend/family member who also wants to see it. If I don't really care about the movie, I don't really care about who I watch it with.

I don't talk in theaters except for asides and hilarious jokes about onscreen action. I guess those are synonyms. Anyway on DVD I always turn subtitles on when available, which more or less negates the problem.

But the problem with subtitles is that I always end up reading those even when I don't need to. Who knew movie-watching could be such a complicated and diverse activity? :)

Hah, I thought I was the only one that did that. It's kind of funny tho if you accidentally leave them on and see some sports event - the system tries to identify the words the announcers are saying and the most bizarre words come up on the caption :)
