Re: TW3Rp - Reviews
I think this is the best thing anyone's ever said about a vocal line I did. That's theHipCola on the low double, too.Paco Del Stinko wrote:I like Smalltowns snearing delivery, but Boltoph makes me feel like I drank cough syrup or something.
Which reminds me, it's been over fifteen years since I've downed half a bottle of Robitussin.
And now, with this post count, I think it'd be best if I never posted again.

I'm just a little surprised
that she don't open her eyes
she's got 2 chances tonight
to give me heaven delight.
Signs go on right by
Curves distract the good eyes
Tales tell all those lies
Become one I despise
She's a Tw3rp (8x)
She don't work (8x)
It's a fun little ditty, let's all sing along!!!

Overall a lot of good songs. Kudos to anyone who didn't do the song as tw3rp = twerp.
- The Anarchaeologists - Not bad. That staticy bass thing is annoying. Pretty good lyrics, decent production.
- Balls To Monte - This sounds like something from Robot Chicken (a TV show). I got pretty bored with it at about 2 minutes, and never recovered.
- Beefy [w. DJ Snyder] - Cool, I wasn't fully buying it until the end. Good song.
- Billy's Little Trip - Freaky good. Great use of the theme. Good song.
- Booty Chesterfield Trio - Music is pretty good but that fuzzy bass thing is bothersome. Vocals need some help.
- Dj Dickie Qwick - Nice job. I forgotten how annoying that theme song was. Good song.
- Flvxxvm Florvm - Uh, this rocks. Hard. Good song.
- Garlick Head - Groovy little ditty. Good song.
- Gert - This sucks. Really, there are like twenty of you in this band and this is the best you can do? The first guitar solo blows. The second solo is pretty good. Des saves the song with the keyboard solo. The lyrics take me nowhere.
- iNGRUO - This is actually worse than my song. And longer.
- Melvin - The ba ba bas drive me bananas. I like the keyboardish guitar solo (is that right?) This doesn't quite gel for me.
- Paco Del Stinko - Pretty kick ass. The sing-response thing is great. The ending is dismal, but overall... Good song.
- Raspy Jasper - Great singing. Is this annoying bass sound week? This is like the fifth song with an annoying rhythm guitar or bass part.
- Ross Durand - OMG, we have a winner... Superb. You should have coerced Steve D into adding a horn solo for you. Good song.
- signboy - Part of me hates this, part of me digs it. The vocals are either great or horrendous, I'm not sure which. Something different at least.
- Sockpuppet - Nice porno groove. The breathy singing fits the music perfectly. The keyboard parts are really good. Good song.
- Spinlock - Pretty damn good. Wonderfully over-the-top. Good song.
- Wages of Spin - Nice vocals. Cool vibe to the music. Good song.
- Wreckdom vs. Sven - That has some good parts. The whole is not happening.
- Zoosneakers - Who is this asshole? Talking kids toys? Where's the chorus?
Ross kicks the crap out of everyone. BLT and Spinlock fight over the scraps. That is all.

It actually is true.
Leaf said it far more aggressively than I would have—and, of course, feel free to think of the Gert tune what you would like—but your song really is a piece of shit.
And you had to have known that when you submitted it.

Sorry, just call 'em like I see 'em. And really, the quality of my song is irrelevant to my review of your song. And I stand by my review.Smalltown Mike wrote:It actually is true.

Calling me an asshole? (I don't mind the touchy part). Get a grip. You're review sucks in context to your work. It'd be different if you did something that had merit... but your "review" smacks of jealousy and an opinion. You're entitled to both. The part that got me is you got 10 posts at this point in time, yet you seem to phrase your review like you know who Des is... and Gert. Now how can that be?
To answer your (rhetorical) question... we did the song with one pass at it each... online collab. Yes. Its' the best we could do with the time we had available. Show me how awesome you are jackass. Do better.
Touchy? Yep. So fuckin unique amongst musicians. Not that you'd know.
Asshole? Get a mirror.

And what is this conspiracy theory shit? Honestly, I was expecting great things when I saw Gert. I didn't think it was a good song. It had some good parts like I said. End of story.

I may not have baked a pizza to go along with the one I ordered, but I'm pretty sure that cat vomit isn't a very good topping, and the crust isn't supposed to be orange and fuzzy.Leaf wrote:Calling me an asshole? (It irks me when people use the "You think my work sucks? Well you do something better!" defense. It's considered Site Owner Cliche #1 at Portal of Evil.)
It pleases Gert to suck labia. Labia are good parts. Gert likes to have fun, Gert has an active sex life. To Gert, the glass is always half full.Zoosneakers wrote:Honestly, I was expecting great things when I saw Gert. It had some good parts

For the record, I do know who Gert is...at least Deshead (from reading his recording blog and songs such Piece of My Heat) and Smalltown Mike (Sign My Box is still a Songfight fav of mine). I also enjoyed Deshead's discussion of how Sweet Lovin' Woman was recorded, and so I'm familar with that tune from reading that discussion. I don't know anything about Botoph or Leaf but they were mentioned in the Lyrics posting for this song.
The 20 members comment was a joke/exaggeration. Sorry.
You guys are swell. Production was great. Some good parts, but overall a sucky song. But you're right, it's better than my song. Love, the Newbie.
