I'm good to go, apart from getting told we're playing some non songfight material (how dare they) which I haven't heard and I've no idea whats happening with Half a Stone. Maybe I'll just do a Jew's harp solo for that one. My first practice with the full Pomp lineup will be the performance itself so good luck me.

Songfight UK was an unqualified success - and I have a career as a compere if my musical career doesn't take off.

Amazingly, I WON THE LIVE SONGFIGHT!

Pompeii with Motherfunker were awesomely tight, Masters of Grip rocked the English Cowboy sound, Kapitano's fantastic electronic sound blew us all away, Kamakura brought an amazing musicianship and impressed us all with a nice mix of man 'n' piano/man 'n' guitar, and J$ was well, he just was.

There were 3 video cameras (including Pompeii's truly scarily professional looking one) recording and 5 dig cameras taking pics, so there will be plenty more of everyone, and unfortunately, those I can't pick and choose the ones I look cutest in

So anyway, i kind of got volunteered for editing the various footage all together into one Songfight UK DVD, so I'll probably snatch the audio from that. (recording through the PA turned out not to be a logisitical possibility unfortunately.) I do have a grimy cassette bootleg of my performance for true punk authenticity, though

groovy.. hey does anybody know anything about DVD regions and stuff? i mean, if i wanted a copy of this show, and paid the zillion dollars (about .5543 zillion pounds) for shipping, would it even work on my DVD player?

They certainly do. Unfortunately I broke my only jack lead in the process of plugging it in, so you'll have to wait until tomorrow for the experience. Maybe God is trying to tell me something?

While I'm on the subject of compiling a DVD, it would be helpful if everyone could let me have their set-lists. I can pretty much remember most of them, or work it out from the audio if possible, but it would be good if people can confirm exactly how they want it listed &c -

Anyhoo, just to clear something up. The big chap next to this message is Pop Idol runner up Rik Waller. Not only is he unbelievably fat but he's also a grumpy moody old git too. He is NOT Pompeii's drummer who is in fact called Phil and is comparatively slim and a whole lot jollier. Kapitano take note.

Um, the recording quality from the cassette is terrible. Caveat listenor. The audio I capture of the film footage should be a whole hell of a lot better. This is just to give you a diet flavour of the event...

It has also been pointed out that there is a huge factual error in this lyric. Retrospectively I can argue it's meant to be an indicator that the character is an unreliable narrator, but the truth is I just got it wrong.
