So where did you find these source files? I just put the CD in my player again on my computer and I didn't find these remix tracks. Hmmmmm I wonder if it's due to when you purchased it or where the original CD came from. Anyway, let me know cuz I can't find this remix aspect on the original CD.

There's a special app they include on the CD. You have to use it. Unless, of course, you capture the audio from the app and painstakingly organize it into loopable, well, loops. 95.5 bpm. Who the fuck does things at 95.5 bpm? I think they did that just to fuck with us.

Alright, you guys lucked out. I won't be around May 1st b/c I got roped into taking an impromptu vacation and I won't be back till the 8th (going camping in CO). So, for the record, the deadline hasn't extended, I just can't enforce it. Anything that comes before the 8th, I kinda have to let slip by. Lucky you.
Also, I picked up the 2nd and 3rd prizes -- a Mr. T talking electronic keychain, and a Whoopee cushion, respectively. Smile, baby.

Holy crap!!!! Second prize is really like first prize.
Sorry C..... I couldn't get my sh*t together to make this go down. Baby is all consuming at this point.

Welp, I guess procrastinating showing the results isn't gonna garner more submissions. Here they are folks, Jim Tyrell and Sausage Boy! Someone will win the Borat DVD, and someone will win the Mr. T talking keychain. Who will it be? Only you can decide. Listen here and vote using the poll at the top of this thread.

Wow, both good in their own way. Tough choice.

I think Sausage Boy's was the more creative of the two, but Jimmy's was more fun to listen to. Kept the infectious pop aspect of it.

This may turn out to be my most successful entry into SongFight ever. I am assured of at least second place!

nice work, Jim. Did you record some of the instruments yourself (the guitars and such)? I liked it overall, though the part where you bring in the lalala's and the harmonies together seems to sit a little odd to me.
I do like your mix, but I honestly like mine more.

Thanks! The guitars, keys, and bass are all played by me. The drums are some royalty-free loops I found. I just took the main vocal, and fooled around with some elec. piano chords, and built it from there.
I'm digging yours, man. One of us is gonna win this thing for sure.

I do wish more people had done this though.

if you happen to upload your guitars, keys and bass to the web, and happen to send me the links, I'd like to try mixing them into my song, perhaps mix in all the vocals too. Make an uber-tyrell-boy-mix.

Jim Tyrell wins it! He'll be getting a brand-spanking new Borat DVD in the mail, and Sausage Boy, the runner up, will be able to tell people to quit their jibba jabba with the touch of a button. PM me your addresses guys, so I can send 'em on down.

Hooray! Am I the last remaining person who has not yet seen this movie? Thanks C Hack!!
Sausage Boy: I'm still working on making my tracks available for remix, 'cause that would be awesome.

I'm delighted to report that the Borat DVD arrived today. Thanks C Hack! I hope to watch it tonight, if I get enough recording done.

God dammit, I missed the voting boat on this one. I just now got around to listening to this and let me just say: sorry sausageboy, because I could have repped for you. I think your work on this is more of a true remix of the song, a total re-imagining of it in fact. And it grabbed me about a million times more than the actual song, which I hate. Awesome, awesome work my friend and very dark. Jim's was pretty good as well, but was pretty much just taking the song's structure and melody and creating a new foundation for it. It wasn't terribly interesting for me though, mostly because I hate the song to begin with.
