Yes - Top Cat! That was a beauty.

What real life TV show was that modelled on? Was it The Phil Silvers show?

Am I alone in finding G.I. Joe disturbing as a kid. I can vividly remember Cobra trying to get information from Shipwreck, so they pretended that it was years in the future & the war was over. They made clones of all of the Joes and a fake town. The only problem is that the clones had a tendency to melt, which fucked with Shipwreck's brain even more. G.I. Joe was a screwed up drug trip.

1. Merrie Melodies, Looney Tunes, whatever you want to call it.

2. The Simpsons

3. This spot belongs to one of the Adult Swim shows, but there's three or four that could take it. Right now, it's Aqua Teen Hunger Force, but more exposure to Sealab or Harvey Birdman could cause a change in ranking.

Family Guy (south park, the simpsons, the critic, king of the hill)
Samurai Jack (powerpuff girls, dexter's lab)
Ghost in the Shell (the closest thing to what anime could be... if only...)

I was surprised to see only one person site The Tick. I still laugh out loud when I watch that show. Ben Edlund is excellent.

I would say my top 3, in no particular order, are The Tick, Sealab 2021, and Futurama.

Rocky and Bullwinkle
Looney Tunes - Chuck Jones' episodes especially

I just saw Sponge Bob for the first time last month (once). It's safe to say I wish I was a 5 year old now watching that.

Ok, if anime isn't cartoons:
Invader Zim.
That show rocks.

New favorite cartoon: Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. Fun for the whole family. We were laughing our asses off the other day, watching the one where they all have a crush on Frankie. It's amazing how they get such a range of emotion out of a blue blob.

Also, Spongebob is popular for a reason. Hilarious.

1. VENTURE BROTHERS
2. Futurama
3. Invader Zim

And I've only seen one episode, but it it keeps up with that kind of quality, Samurai Champloo could easily take over one of those spots.

The first episode of Champloo is the worst. Not that it's bad. It just isn't the rest of the series.

Sparkette and I mostly agree:

Aqua Teen Hunger Force
Cowboy Bebop
Futurama

I can't believe this many people have Daria near the top of their list. I remember like three or four funny moments in the whole series. I think I liked it when I was young (when it was on) becuase I wasn't yet entirely bored by the whole teen ennui franchise. Even Beavis and Butthead was a lot funnier than Daria. At least it didn't have any annoying pretense.
