Are you retarded?
YES you must be retarded, or somehow even worse off, to possibly question THE SOBER IRISHMAN when he is talking out of his ass or maybe trying to be funny and failing. Only retarded people are too retarded to not accept everything the guy says, because by god he is the SOBER MOTHERFUCKING IRISHMAN and you need to learn to respect that!

Hell, maybe he's even right! I'm just assuming he isn't because you sound like you know what you're talking about, but again that is NO EXCUSE for sassiness.

hi there:

I've finished my song for "Ottoman".

As the title is one word, would the fightmaster prefer gurdonark_o
as the song title, or gurdonark_ottoman

I want to make it uniform with what everyone else is doing, to minimize the work for the fightmaster.

I love getting 3/4 of the way through a song and realizing that it sounds like a parody of a song.

I've got one submitted. I'm not really sure if one would call it all that great, but it's in.

To gurdonark - I labeled mine jollyroger_o. If you want to keep it uniform with me, which is obviously what matters, follow suit.

ps - my cover art will make more sense when you hear my song.

Submission filename conventions:

Name your file like so:

Suppose you are The John Benjamin Band and the title is "Look Good In Black":

johnbenjaminband_lgib.mp3

That's your band name, all lower case, all one word, not including "the", followed by an underscore, and then an acronym made of the words in the title you're submitting for (unless the title is a single word, in which case, use the whole word). If there is an "and" in your band name, replace it with "+".

Obviously he is. The city may well have become the capital of the ottoman empire in 1453 - but Constantinople wasn't officially renamed Istanbul until 1930.

I have an idea for this fight. Let's see if I turn it into a song.
Am I rockin' hard, or hardly rockin'?

It better be perfect, if you submitted it almost a week early. There's no reason not to take the extra time.

Actually, I'm more just stuck with being in a different state than all of my recording equipment. So it was made with various freeware and a cell phone. Not really much way to make it perfect, being without my instruments.

with the level of intelligence displayed in Sober Irishman's post, and echoed throughout this board, i decided to play it safe and just stick to calling the city by it's present name. but my god, if you post something as fucking stupid as this:

Still without recording Technology, day 3. I've either gonna have to go old school "voice recorder" route or I'm not gonna get a project done in time.

Such is the woes of the new guy.

Two ideas:

1) A history of the Ottoman Empire, inspired by such historical musical epics as "Alexander the Great" by Iron Maiden and "Waterloo" by ABBA, and probably musically somewhere in between those two. Which means it won't sound anything like either of them, but will have lots of "rat. tat. rat tat TAT!" beats.

2) Something inspired by the opening credits of the Dick Van Dyke show.

Reasons not to take the extra time

1. What seems like "extra time" to people on the internet is really "time that I have to spend doing other important things"

I suppose so. Seriously, having to use a voicemail based podcast with a demo version of wavepad and musicmatch and no sampler kind of limits your options. Sigh. Oh well. There are strange men in my kitchen.
