I dunno, I really enjoyed Cinquième As as well. I like the contrast between the pop and his lyrics. If anything Rap in general has moved away from the harder-edged stuff to the Akon style soul-influenced stuff, so it's not surprising. I also like another french rapper Matt (best known for cracking 90s single 'R'n'B 2 Rue') who is more obviously american-rap-influenced
