Just wanted to let everyone know that I've got nothing to say about this topic. But I do want to get my number of posts up so that I might eventually appear to be a more "authentic" and seasoned member of the Songfight community.

104 is good, I respect you. Myself, I don't think I could bring myself to use 'so' as a verb so I don't think I can enter.

I would so never do that. Incidently, the verb is "want."

Incidentally, I so am thinking about a kind of indietronica, krautrock type feel.

After a couple of months of listening and reading feedback I have finally written a song around a posted title. I am doing my best to iron out the kinks over the next couple of days. I still feel a bit out in left field but it's better than feeling stuck in the parking lot of the stadium.

I look forward to all of your feedback!

Due on my brother's birthday. Sadly my brother isn't very weird at all (he's a pretty typical reformed hipster) so I don't think that'll make for lyrical inspiration.

"So Weird" is a good, flexible title.

I wrote a song with this title, in which I try to be more acoustic, simpler, and sample-free.

I came up with a chord progression and I think it might already be a famous song, but I can't figure out which one. So I'm going to go ahead and submit it, and find out from the reviews what song I'm copying. It's not like the actual composer is going to sue me or something.
I did that once, spent a few hours constructing a "definitive" 80s rock song, assembled out of cheesy synths and whatnot. Then when I sat down to listen all the way through, I realized I'd just "written" the chord structure and melody of "We're not gonna take it", albeit with a Culture Club arrangement better suited to telephone hold music.

It's still on my hard drive somewhere, titled "We're not gonna answer it".

I'm actually very happy right now. This is only the second song I actually finished (5th I've tried to do). All I have left is the vocal track. Should have it done by tomorrow afternoon.

what's so weird is...that i'm probably out of this fight.
i've written a lot of half songs this week, but nothing that really fits the title.
time is running out and i have no solid idea for this one.

I just saw the trailer for Darjeeling Limited trailer, so I am re-inspired.

That sucks man, you were on quite a roll for a while. Oh well. I guess its better to bow out than to just probably spew out some last minute crappola like Im gonna do. bzzt

Although I've submitted my mix, I'm not particularly satisfied with it. I'm going to put the tracks up, and somebody who wants to take a crack at mixing them can PM me and I'll send you a link to where they are.

I've got to declare myself out, which is annoying. I've had a go at recording it, but my new recording setup apparently has some flaw or other. Seeing as the only thing that's changed is that I now have Vista, I'm going to blame that.

The last million or so times that I said "I'm in this one", I wasn't because I ran out of recording time.

But today, I got home early (at 4:36pm or so) and decided to kick one out. So I conceived, wrote, rewrote and recorded a little uke ditty (surprise!) and will submit one of the two takes I recorded *if* I can't find the time to record a better take. And so, less than an hour later, I'm finished and posting this. Now I gotta pick up the kids.

So I'm in. You have nothing to fear.

Also: when getting home early to record, don't forget to turn the A/C temp lower; it's hot in here!

Ah, heck, I've just submitted it. Why wait?

...Nothing like getting down to the last full day and, spending days recording and mixing music, reminding one's self that you cannot sing worth a flip...

you cannot sing worth a flip...
Have you considered chanting?

Throat-singing is also nice.

Me, I just pretend I can't hear myself and hope for the best.

4 Tracks of the Apocalypse

Well of course my 4-track suffered a major "head" injury when my 6 year old zigged when he should have zagged last night.

Looks like it's a live 1 track recording for my first fight...

Sadly even though I work in a technical field I have no experience multitracking on a PC.
