I am in the unenviable position of having a nearly completed lyric before recording one sound. This will be an uneasy re-entry, indeed.

I don't think this title is gonna produce much. How many of you actually have broken hearts? I think last week's failed blues fiasco can answer that...

A broken heart doesn't have to just be about a relationship that went bad. I can vividly remember things that have happened in my life that have broken my heart. I can still remember the day my Dad walked out the door with his middle finger in the air saying, "have a good fucking life" to my Mom, and never coming back. I can still remember that pain like it was yesterday. Maybe someone lost a pet, or a very dear friend, etc.
Sometimes song writing is about more than what's on the surface. But surface songs are fun too. Paco Del Stinko is the King of entertaining word play.

His response is completely true, but does absolutely nothing to refute the original point.

I'm done. Two takes, got one I was happy with.

(Actually, I'm going to spend the rest of the week working on it, but it feels ready even now.)

And, yes, it's not as miserable as my Memphis entry.

Does this one have chords?

1) I didn't actually have Cancer when I wrote a song called Cancer.
2) The blues ain't about broken hearts, it's about the world treating you bad. Just because I got a woman mean as she can be don't mean she gonna be able to break my heart.
3) Have you really never had your heart broken? What are you, 12? Like everyone I know has had their heart broken.

Mine was dangerously evocative of Genesis' "Misunderstanding". Disaster averted. This must be some weird cross-over from the prog discussion elsewhere.

Excuse me, f.aggot. Lift up your skirt, wipe the sand out of your vagina, and quit whining  . Everyone you know has NOT had their hearts broken and neither have you. Have you had cancer? NO. Have you had your life partner cheat on you? NO. Have you tried to kiss a girl and had her politely decline? Well fuck you because that's not good enough. SONGFIGHT! is getting worse and worse because you shit-for-brains indie kids keep writing uninspired noise. Do us a favor and wait for a title to which you can relate.

Don't single me out, ass. Erik's is clearly 100p x 90p. This is bullshit.

Ummm, I've had a life partner cheat on me.
Good try, though.

I welcome you to Song Fight, give you some helpful advice, and you call me an ass? Why are you so defensive? Link me to some of your music so I can hear what you're about. This request isn't a demand, so put you guard down and chill musician style.
