Eric, your site also pegged me as dying at 73. Now I'm getting creeped out picturing myself at 73...still playing uke.

Erics' site gave me five more years. Yippee! All the way to 78! I still don't play a uke, though. :(

Re: Death Forecast

The main problem with that one is the weight question is a bit vague and asks only whether you think you are overweight. Most people don't realise they are overweight if their BMI is>25 and obese if>30.

Also some very weird questions here -

Do you always wear a seatbelt?
Do you have health insurance?
Do you own a gun?

WTF?!? - this must be written for Americans

I'm checking out at 84 - unless someone gets me first

This is a pre-fight thread, right?

:-)

so for what I think is the first time. I shut the file I was recording, opened another and started recording the song again totally from scratch - I hope it turns out.

anyway - I think I'm in.

Seriously. I'm all for irrelevance and chaos, but this thread is just over the top. Honestly, death clocks? By the way, I'm liking your last entry more and more with repeated listens. It hasn't quite been stuck in my head or anything, but it's got the honor of not being one of the ones I'm skipping when I listen, as we're down to the final couple days of voting, and the playlist is becoming increasingly shorter. A couple more times and I'll be singing along, I imagine. So what have you got in the works for this next one? Something with drums, maybe? And do you know where your brother's been hiding? I've been very eager to hear more since he so boldly took us all on that excursion to ancient Egypt. By the way, thanks for having my back over on the review thread, whatever Erik's intent actually was. I'd have responded over there by now, but I've been too busy developing music for this next fight to be spending hours typing on the boards, which I know will happen, as his question can lead nowhere but to a lengthy discussion of how to approach titling artistic works. The same goes for discussions of meat. Either way, I've got a long day ahead of me. I hope to see you at the fight!

Interesting you should mention that. I was just coming in to say

"Help! I think I need real drums for a hard rock song - pm me if you can help. I would probably need the track by 9 pm pacific in order to mix tonight. If not I'll have to use my midi ones."

Thanks for your kind comments about the song - I'm really glad you're enjoying it. Feel free to add claps to your singing along :-)

Well, another reneg. Looks like I'm gonna throw something together last minute again. I had fun this morning with a little midi string ensemble on my keyboard, and it kinda flows nicely. And, being the impatient fool I am, rather than holding off for another fight with it, I quick-whipped some lyrics and will mix it tomorrow morning.

Yay for me, huh? (When will I ever learn?)

I would think it to be called planning ahead...

I've yet to have the common sense to do that yet, though... In fact, this will be my third project that I've whipped together starting less than 48 hours from deadline.

The Stink is in with a spotty little number. Includes lyrics from Minty Handys' scrap heap and a specal extended Blue note at the end.

Ok, in. I was gonna try another bounce with more highs, but something happened to my file and I can't figure out why my software is only bouncing hte guitars - so my mix is a little low-heavy. Either way, I hope you enjoy it. Perhaps I'll get to sleep a couple of nights now before the new title comes out :-)

EDIT: oh, and apologies to the fight masters - I just realized that I named the file "rossdurand_fr.mp3" rather than "rossdurand_afr.mp3" I hope this does not inconvenience anyone (like maybe jb or spud :-) )

i'm in.
i wrote and recorded the thing tonight and had to be quiet about it because of a sleeping girlfriend. the song is quiet and dreamy, and there is no direct mention of the title. don't let that throw you, i did write to this title, although it was very tempting, at the last minute, to finish a half-song that i started earlier in the year.
again, not my favorite song, but it's growing on me.

Glad to hear you decided to stick around. I like the number 12 a lot, too, but let's not get too carried away with numerology and assorted silliness.

I'm really looking forward to this fight. Let's get it on!

If I understand correctly, newly formed SongFight! supergroup Wages of Oats is <IN>. ROCK MY ASS, YEAH!

Credits(imo):
Music by Wages and Lord of Oats
Lyrics by Wages
Session Produced and Engineered by Wages and Lord of Oats
Vocal Performance by Wages
Instrumental Performance by Lord of Oats

Did I forget anyone? veGetar Ianre Ge and Bjam served as consultants for the band-naming process, but that has absolutely nothing to do with this track. But thanks either way, guys!

Correct, but I'm not really surprised given the lateness of the request. There are drums in the song, however, and I think it turned out okay - we'll have to see what people think.

I'll let you know as soon as they update the front page. This ought to be a great fight. My chair can hardly contain me. Several solid performers are in. But it might be nice to have a couple days to relax...I mean exercise...instead of sit in my hot studio. Then again, I might just get to work on my SUK submission for this month. I started a little late with that last time. Yeah, anyway good luck in the upcoming battle. You did say hard rock somewhere, right? I like that stuff...

I'm in after some late late late night emergency mixing. I don't want to shoot it down before it's off of the ground, but fellow fighters bear in mind I had to make a tough choice between a second verse and studying for an organic chemistry test. I didn't get a confirmation letter although I'm 100% positive that I sent it to the right email. :? Mods if you didn't get me let me know!
