Not many do, only Germans.

Everybody pronounces my last name (Reist) as R-eye-st, when we pronounce it R-ee-st
Many secretaries and most medical assistants pronounce my last name "Roy". Something in their brain misfires when they read my chart, since they've only been thinking last-name-first, last-name-first, last-name-first, last-name-first, a few hundred times EVERY FRICKIN' DAY, DAY IN AND DAY OUT. So, naturally they call me Mr. Roy, because clearly NO one could possibly have a last name like Walter...my god just think what might happen then? The world would implode and all would be lost!
I quietly raise my hand and follow them to the office. All is not lost.

My name's Bryn, and almost no one gets it right. Sometimes I get "Bryan" or "Brine", which is kinda understandable... but more often it's "Byron" or "Byrne".

Why do you make it so hard on everybody.
Change your name to Smith or Jones or something like that.

These play-on-word posts work a lot better when there's a cute, giggling female playing along. Otherwise, it's just a
sausage festival. (homos)

I'd rather not talk about my days with the extra "-ne". That was a different time, different set of equipment.

HA HA! But he smelled so nice back then. Mmmmm...Jean Nate and fabric softener. However, I don't think that I'm ready for a trip back to the future, no offense.

Isn't that what you put pickles in?
PS - for the name thing, what do you guys think of Andrew Reïst? I think the dots over the i are pretty cool. Should I have my first name in there? Reïst has a really metal sound to it. I should enter under that.

Is that what we're calling them nowadays? And really, it was just Paco's. Pickle. Not plural. One was enough to change everything...

Brynne = pickle
brine = pickles
Brian = I don't know anything about Brians' pickle, but we did wake up with our flys down after a drunken sleep-over one time.

Alright - I gave in. As 'attached' as I was to jolly roger, I finally decided that change was needed. The time has come for a new name. This way I can give respect to my ancestors, right? I'm also a whole lot more metal now with those dotty things over top of my last name.
Reïst will now attempt to dominate the music scene of SF.

Feels good, doesn't it? I have no metal transformation planned, but my new nik may bring that about...magically. Thanks Mark.
I mean Märk

You know, I took German, so I always read these umlauted names as if they were actually in German... no idea what ï would sound like, though.
