March 2008 is coming up soon, so I thought I would resurrect the idea in case people wanted to do it in March again next year. I think it's good to have it a fair distance in time away from the annual official gathering, for a variety of reasons.
march 10-14's my spring break. I could catch a flight to San Diego and hitch rides with ken or whoever all the way to the top.

Dude, when I come home for christmas, we'll hold an Albertan Songfight Live at the church. You, Me, Jeff, and maybe even Brendon (he was on Adonai) will rock the joint. Also if there's any other Calgarian/Albertan songfighters, they are welcome to join.
Hahaha. We could also have Ben Krieger play, even though he is a different Ben Krieger than the one on SongFight.
I am so down. You guys can be my backup band, and when Jeff plays, we'll just rotate - etc. etc. 3 or 4 bands of the same band! Then we'll play as DSPC to top it all off.
my preference would be to do this in the spring, which i think is when it happened last year.
that said, if enough people wanted to do a show in santa cruz as part of said tour, worse case scenario i'd be willing to rent the cayuga vault for a night again if it was available for part of a bay area weekend maybe. maybe add a show in the south bay and one in the city or east bay.
I think I could secure this place with enough advance notice, should the tour stop in Portland. Good drinks, good stage & sound. Don't know how much organisizing I could do this time around, though. Auntie?
Errrr... yess! I can organ-iz-ize! I'm good at organiz-izing! But let me respond in full post-Turkey day... I seem to have too much on my plate at the moment.
Coolio. Travis Bickle was driving this morning pre-coffee. I realize, now that I'm finally awake, this could all have been handled via pm at this early stage of "planning".

Seriously, this could be a lot of fun. Even if no one but Kenny shows up to watch, we can just rock out to the various songs we've done for songfight. And Kenny will have an awesome time.

Hah. We could also bust out the recording stuff and video cameras - multi-angle DVDs with stereo mixes could be released. We can just edit in crowd cheering in between songs.
I ain't been round much lately, but let me pipe in and say I'd definitely be down for part of this (maybe the LA, Portland, and Seattle shows again...)
Kick-off's a little tight, scheduling-wise, alas. But it's a gooood idea. Perhaps -- since momentum's been entropied -- regional mini-tours might be another direction.
PDX - Seattle - Spokane, WA/Moscow, ID? Victoria, BC? Puce, errr... Adam? That freakin' island gimpy ol' Leaf's on? Heh.
But spring, yeah. Makes it more comfortable sleeping on the cheap at rest stops
Just to throw a hypothetical date out there, let's say tour kickoff of March 21. Equinoxy. Whatcha think?
Yep. That is correct time for Songfight Tour.
If you want to volunteer to put together a show, say so.
Ken
Ken's Super Duper Band 'n Stuff - Berkeley Social Scene - Tiny Robots - Seamus Collective - Semolina Pilchards - Cutie Pies - Explino! - Bravo Bros. - 2 from 14 - and more!
i would just like to remind everyone that Ken eats kittens - blue lang
I'll hold a Moscow ID show if we can get bands. I can get an audience, it would be a blast.
Actually, strike that. I'll hold a show if we can get Octothorpe. Anyone else is gravy.

Uh... I thought I did! (Some posts ago.) I will organize. So! Let's move this back over to the "Concerts and Events" thread where it belongs so that the official SF Live still has its dedicated thread.
