Ling. You really should read the posts more carefully.

Despite being closer as the crow flies, Ohio is farther from the Bay area than New York or Boston. There are cheap direct flights to Boston and New York, but Cleveland is another matter.

If it were drivable I understand the need for a central location, but once you get 500miles out, the major cities become closer and the geography becomes irrelevant.

Anyway, regretfully I'll have to miss the Ohio shows.

I'm tempted to go just so I can say:
"Hello Cleveland, are you ready to ROCK!!!"

don't know if there is still interest in discussing this subject? but if it happens to be cleveland i will absolutely be there.
i am about 3 hours away, but my mom lives in cleveland and my lil brother is going to college there (case western reserve) so he might possibly be able to come up with information about locations...

I had been wondering if this subject was going to come up again.

I got the feeling last year in Atlanta that something wasn't the same and I even mentioned it to a red-headed Bewell. (L girl)
I felt like 'next year' wasn't going to happen... at least not to the capacity of a the annual songfight live event.
Then there is the songfight tour on the west side right up through April. People making that commitment may not be able to spring for other commitments. Of course that is highly speculative, I really can't speak for them.

We're in the second half of March and nobody is really talking about it and Frank already bowed out of it way back when this thread was started. (while thats not a deal breaker for me, it is a factor)
Now I've made plans for a trip to the Phoenix area on Memorial day weekend which will pretty much tap me out financially as far as summer trip taking cash goes. I'm not saying I'd be out, but it would be a squeeze.

If this is going to happen, it has to start rolling so we can make the appropriate plans and I'm not even sure if John M. has been hanging around these boards as of late.

No SF Live? That would be a horrible shame. We can't let that happen.

I'd like to come back to another one.

This year may be as good as any - though I'm not actually sure what country I'll be living in in a few weeks - but this year is still a possibility, and since Cleveland sounds like a place that I would never normaly have any excuse for going to - it sounds like a good as place as any (and since I will probably coming from either New Zealand or Papua New Guinea - everywhere is going to be a long way)

So,it's been a while since I had checked the status of Song Fight Live '08, and it was brought to my attention that we still don't have a confirmed city for the official Song Fight Live this year.

With this in mind, I would be willing to set something up in Spokane if there is any interest in having it in my fair city. I just figured I would throw that out there as a possibility.

ROCK!

4 tanks of gas, total, is more viable than a plane ticket for me. Pending dates, of course.

There will be a Live show this year, even if I have to get personally involved.

I'd be like 2/3 of a tank of gas, so of course I'd be in, but.

I started a thread where the pros and cons of holding the official live event in Spokane this year can be discussed. Feel free to do so.

ROCK!

Not to sound like a party pooper, but personally I think there's something to be said for having the event near by a major metro area, for the sake of easier flight/transportation/lodging arrangements.

On the other hand, Santa Cruz was pretty awesome, maybe we could do that again? ;)

From Oakland, one stop
Delta through Salt Lake City
Alaska through Seattle or Portland
United through Denver

From SFO, one stop
Alaska through Seattle
United through Seattle
Delta through Salt Lake City

From San Jose, one stop
Alaska through Seattle, Portland, or Boise
Delta through Salt Lake City
United through Denver
US Airways through Pheonix

So, it appears that there are some options.

Southwest flies to Spokane from all over, too.
