I could probably throw some BVs, bass or keys in the direction of a band of Super-Lurkering-Sometime-Fighters, should enough people of that ilk be up for the idea.
I'm up for that. I gots me guitar and me voice (kind of.. I may be getting a cold) and random auxiliary percussion in the form of me banging on random things around campus with a stick.
anybody else feeling up to a songfight lurker band?

yes...
i was trying to come up with something for this title, to celebrate the 500th title.. got nothing tho.
can i join?
I'm gonna have to call you on your 'lurker status' there guy... see, you've been to 3 songfight! Live events (maybe more) and you semi-regularily submit songs...
So with the weekend ahead, I call out all those who have expressed interest in super-lurker band to pm me and we'll see if we can't get something together...
Yes, uh, I'm not precisely a lurker, something like the opposite, but I would be available to help with songs. Since nobody's offered lead guitar, I suppose I will, since I'm often told on here that I'm "pretty good" with that. Of course, I can do rhythm guitar or bass, too. I sing alright, and I can pretend to play keyboards (I did do a whole album on a Casio!). I have various other weird instruments, but I won't go listing them here. I'll be watching this thread and the collab forum, but feel free to contact me directly. I'd prefer an e-mail to a pm, as I don't want my box filling up, and having to do deal with that, so send anything to lordofoats@gmail.com
There are two major schools of thought about how to write songs for Song Fight. The first is to write the sort of thing you want to listen to, the second is to write the sort of thing you think others would vote for.
"Baby Be Quiet" was a song I wrote based on what I like to listen to, while "Night Terrors" was a song I wrote based on what I thought others would vote for.
"And Counting" is a song I am writing based on what I like to listen to.
Screw anyone who complains about the lack of lyrics.

Then there's the third approach - write what the title inspires you to write.
Was your post in response to something, by the way? Just curious, in tone it starts out sounding like it was, but it doesn't seem to be.
It was in response to me writing something very abstract and mathematical, being unable to come up with lyrics for it, and then realizing that I really like the way it sounds anyway.

On the bright side, I am breaking some ground with the Purple Reign stuff.
About a guy that counts ands.
Wow. I was thinking of something with some chords, but hey. This has some promise. I mean, I have no idea how to go about it. But that is a brilliant idea.
conjunction junction, what's your function?
And is the cupid of the word world....if you will. Could you imagine what would have happened if and didn't intervene with ends? Odds would still be single.

Or let what ever happens happen. Which I suppose ties in to Röss' inspiration-lead approach.

I don't see that as being really that different from the "do what you want to listen to" one. If it's what you want to hear then it's what your brain will come up with.

disagreed. My entry for Baby Be Quiet was something that just came to me, but it's not something I particularly enjoy. I really dig the guitar work on it, but the song is not something I particularly like to listen to.
