My wife has been doing stand-up comedy recently. She did an 8-week course where she learnt how to write and peform a 5 minute set, and she has since been trying it out at open mic nights at local pubs. She's been doing really well! Pretty gutsy stuff.

You should record her some time, stick her up on YouTube. Then you can battle it out to see who is the most popular.

About four years ago I used to write jokes for a guy who did a similar course. I just helped boost his set while he started out.

He is very intense. But I realized it wasn't just his visual comedy carrying him. I D/Ld a bunch of his stuff on my ipod, and he's just as funny without seeing him.
His comedy acting has been great, but he was also very good in Mr. Brooks.
I also agree, I think he'll hit the ranks with many greats, like Tom Hanks.

dane cook: awful.

here are the comedians I like: zach galifianakis, patton oswalt, dylan moran. there are others, but check those guys out.

We're leaving out love for Stephen Lynch and Demetri Martin for that matter. Two good comedians.

I somehow knew Kellis wouldn't like Dane Cook. Not sure I can pinpoint how.

Agreed! The mime of our age (and not just in Mr Bean) - I love his silent standup comedy. Black Adder is hilarious too.

Yes, Demetri Martin. I always forget him. So understated, but brilliantly original.

Oh, and by the way. Have you heard Stephen Lynch do the Craig Christ song.

Is it Rowan Atkinson that does the bit about Hell, where he;s the Devil and separating the religions into groups for eternal damnation? The Jews get to leave because it turns out they were right, lol. I haven't heard it in years and I can never find it on youtube or anywhere. It could be because Im looking for the wrong comedian.
