I read that in Jr. High!
Jr. High and Middle School are more or less interchangeable in the States. Not the same way in Canada?
In Calgary, this is how it works - Elementary is 1-3, Middle is 4-6, Jr High is 7-9, High School is 10-12. I'm not sure how it works in the rest of Canada.

Yeah, in case you were wondering about the current US system, (or at least the Florida system), K-5 is elementary, 6-8 is middle, 9-12 is high.

Yeah! That's a great book.

we're doing a playtest for the new Paranoia. Still as fun as ever. This is at most every two weeks, so it's slow going ;)

Boy, do I hate Paranoia. Is the new version a little less heavy on the whole "GM gets to kill you whenever he feels like it" factor? Is there any freedom to choose your own path in this new version? That's one of the things that really appeal to me about RPGs, and I found it wholly absent when I played. Or maybe my GM just didn't play it right?

The pre made games in Paranoia (at least in the one I have) were all quite linear, which was quite annoying. There is no reason games the GM has written himself (herself, if you are D&Ding) can't be a bit more free roaming.

I quite liked the aspect that let you constantly die, and bicker and backstab between your fellow players. On some level, isn't every GMs job to be trying to kill the players at every opportunity?

Playtest? We? I am intrigued.

I'm in a playtesting group that is run by the same guy that runs my fiction writing group online. It's cool as an occasional event. I don't imagine the games would line up well with your schedule, though, sausage boy :)
(mon 8pm est, i think)

also, we've had a few sessions and no-one is dead yet!

i wouldn't worry much, nothing fits well into my schedule, even my day to day life.

Sounds cool. I don't think, off hand, that we have many, if any, roleplay/tabletop game publishers here.
