The only things I've ever gotten from CP are T-shirts. They were like iron ons, kind of. I can't wear something that tacky.
I've never worn an apron, I just change my shirt when I get shmootz on it. But I do hang a small towel over my shoulder when I'm doing some serious cooking, because I rinse and wipe my hands a lot.

Yeah, I only really even have aprons on my mind because in a recent episode of Jacques Pepin Quick and Easy he showed the right way to wear an apron and tie a towel to it.

To protect my clothes, I always cook naked. But I smear my body with lard first to minimise fat-splatter burns.

maybe the cows that get rendered into lard could first be branded with the SF logo iron

It's spelt 'hommous' - and yes, a good extra virgin olive oil certainly brings out the flavour of the chick peas. Try smearing it on your body and walking around with a plate of crackers. It breaks the ice at parties.

How can you tell the quality of the products by looking at the site? Actually, their color printing technology has improved at least twice since I have been using them, and they now print on black and dark colors as well. I have always been very happy with the printing on mugs and the like, except for the occasional upside down job (which they gladly replaced, without even asking for the original back).

What product did you purchase, and how long ago, are you speaking of when proclaiming that their quality is crap and has not improved?

I haven't ordered anything from them in over a year, so if you say they have improved, I'll give it another shot. Does your store have a black shirt with white printing? I'll go look, and if so, I'll buy one. I like long sleeved Tees. White with Red print is ok too.

My statement as to their quality was based on receiving an actual product from the Song Fight store on Monday. Is that recent enough?

Specifically the <a href="http://www.cafepress.com/spudstuff.202990045">Rox & Sox logo shirt</a>. The colors were misaligned and the general ink coverage was spotty at best (it definitely looked like a cheap iron-on, only an iron-on from an inkjet printer would at least have had the colors aligned).

In the past I have made and purchased my own products which used only monochrome (specifically black) printing and they were generally "okay" but still not particularly high-quality.

I wasn't trying to dis you comment, just wanted to know how recent was your experience. Thanks for the specifics. I have noticed that the printing on dark shirts is not as well aligned as their normal color printing. They seem to be printing the white first as a background, and then color over that, and there is sometimes white peeking out from under the color. I will set up a rox shirt on the competing site and order one to see if their quality is any better.

As far as the apron, unfortunately what I'm looking for is a kitchen apron, not a BBQ apron. (Yes there is a difference, apparently. Or at least, those BBQ aprons don't have the waist ties which are the whole point to one.)

I think I'll just go to an actual restaurant/kitchen supply store for that though. :)
