That sucks JB, but at least you guys have some water around now. But yes, it's better if it stays outside to go about its business.

actually, I don't know what a sump pump is
Those two statements are related.

A sump pump is a pump which sits in your basement floor which turns on when water enters the basement and turns off when it's dry. Ideally it pumps the water from inside the basement to outside. It's necessary even if the bottom of your basement is above sea level, since water can get in via means other than the water table (e.g. heavy rain).

Sorry about your flooding woes, JB. Weren't you having a problem with the sump pump last year about this time? How is the water getting in there in the first place, cracks in the concrete, or between the foundation and the house?
I wish I could offer some advice, but I don't really know much about basements because we don't have them here. Anything I could offer at this point, I'm sure you already know or have tried.

BAD FEBRUARY, BAD!
Holy shit. When I saw your basement that's where a bunch of your music stuff was. Did you lose anything?

Well you could still combine most of those lines into single complete sentences. Also, whether you had "substance" before was debatable. So far your actual communicated content hasn't suffered particularly.

When I first started posting here in the DRC,
I typed like I was writing a song.
I was trying to be as descriptive as I could on one line.
I'm not sure why I stopped.

Is that a poke at me? Don't make me come down there.

I was merely poking myself

but I think I now realize why I like you so much

not any apparent lack of substance

just such superb style
