20-25 minutes? I think the Merisan set will be about that long, or 15-20 minutes.

It would be cool if we had audio recordings of the show, but I personally don't really have a way to make that happen.

Edited:

Well, it looks like we have 8 acts preforming:

Seamus Collective
Evil-E
Ross Durand
Merisan
Ken's Super Duper Band 'n Stuff
prayformojo
Minty Handy
State Shirt

And 2.5 hours of performance time - 7-9:30

So that give each act about 17 minutes to perform.

Oh, I hope to bring audio and video stuff to the show.

There's no Zipline in LA this year. We're in San Francisco exclusively this year.

My set runs about 12 minutes without having to get on and off the stage. Am I playing early or late or what? I need to know to figure out when I have to lock the kids in a closet for the night.

i can keep my set under the 17 minute mark, though it will take me at least 5 minutes to set up my looping gear, maybe I could set it up early and shove it in the corner... is there enough space for me to do that? never been to this venue before... :D

I'm not sure what the order of the show will be. The stage was crazy crowded last year, but set changes are minimal. I think 22 minutes can be alloted for State Shirt.

Somebody's bringing a steel-string 6-string acoustic guitar to the show tonight, right? If somebody could respond in the affirmative in the next 15-20 minutes, that would be great, because then I wouldn't bother to bring mine. I'm already bringing an electric and amp for Ken's set, and I have Erin and another passenger and our little weekend bags, in my little Civic sedan. So if I didn't have to also bring my acoustic that would be great.

Just got back from the show - we had a great time!!! and I made a recording that sounds passable. I'll try to roll it out as the week goes by.

First - The Seamus Collective opened with Ken's "We were not meant to be," Then three by the Collective "Ignorance is Bliss" "Influential Film" and "Gone Phishing" followed by Seamus' "All Tan" and finally, "For the Time Being."

Second - Sam and Erin (Merisan?) A neat a coustic duo set - very intimate and beautiful - even the iPod :-)

Third - Ken's Band - I'm not sure the exact name. Ken, Sam, Erin, Evil-E, and Seamus. Great set ending with another convincing "Shreds." Tons of song love from Ken.!!

Fourth - State Shirt. Entrancing and beautiful as always. Three songs - I especially liked "This is old." A true one-man-band!

Fifth - Evil-E. This was a cool set - super honest and straight forward - solo acoustic on his jumbo Alvarez 12 string. Some cool new songs and a few songfight ones, too - including the Evil-E penned Seamus Collective Track "Its just not right. Some great phantom voices coming out of the axe on the last track as well.

sixth - Minty Handy - just awesome - fun, clever, well crafted songs on solo Uke. Realy good version of both tw3rp and the song formerly known as "Cute Boots." Erin joined him for the hit "Our love violates corporate policy.

Seveth me - with what I think was tidy set of folk music. I ended with Mandate - but wait there's more

Encore - Ken, Wayne and Sam broke into Huskcy youth and Pray for mojo reluctantly... ok happily - took the stage to bring it all home!!!

Great night - real fun. Glad to be a user of this site.!!!!

To all who attended - my friend Larke called to say she left a jacket there - it's tan and kinda long - it belonged to her grandmother. She caled teh restaurant this morning and they said they didn't have it - did anybody in the group scoop it up on the way out?

Thanks.

And finally, thanks to everyone who made Songfight SLO a success:

Evil-E

Seriously, though, I had a good time playing in Lighning Joe's "Stairway to Heaven" venue. I chatted with people as they came and went, and worked on my songs for the San Francisco show. Somebody offered me a half-hour spot on a local TV show, too.

Maybe next year y'all can come too? It was a lot of fun!

What an excellent time! It was really great to see everybody again. Thanks to Chris/PFM for feeding the monkey, and to everybody who came and made it happen. It was a really nice show. I love that venue, too. (Maybe we should start a SongFight! Live 2008 Culver City campaign? ;))
