there are pretty serious legal ramifications (and fines) for sending out unsolicited email blasts without using either an opt-in list or giving the recipients the option to opt out of future communications. what you've done is pretty much the definition of spam if nobody asked for it, and didn't sign up to receive this, and you obviously don't care about sharing where you got the contact info from because yes, it does matter. and obviously, you've included your name and phone number if anyone decides to complain to either your ISP or theirs, which could result in you getting blacklisted.

You really lost me here. College MDs I've known relish the fact that they don't work for Clearchannel.

haha.

jack's post reminds me of this spam i got the other day. they were going on and on about how a website has to get onto the front page of google and other search engines and how you'll never make it if you're not on the first page and how they could get me submitted to search engines so i could bask in their benefits. they even said my domain name in the email. well. obviously they didn't check to see if heuristicsinc.com was on the first page of a search on google :) you get me if you hit "i'm feeling lucky!"

i did some business with bryan farrish beginning in february, 2008.

i have been trying to reach bryan directly to discuss some issues i have with his company. in the last 3 months, i have been calling the number he posted on this thread daily. i've left several dozen voicemails in the company's general mailbox and with his employees since there is no direct line to him. i have also had several conversations with his employees, some of whom are very polite but not very helpful.

bryan has not returned any of my calls in the 3 months that i've been requesting a conversation with him. since none of employees can make a decision in regards to my issue with the company, talking to them does not provide a resolution. it has been an extremely frustrating process.

if anyone has a more direct way to contact bryan, i'd appreciate the number.

peace
cole

Cole, just curious. What brings you to Song Fight? Not a dig, just wondering what a somewhat successful rapper is doing here trying to get in touch with BF?

By the way, I had to check up on you and you're pretty good. I'm not into rap, but this one cracked me up. Good call on the hyper ups dude from Mad TV.

...which is probably the big reason why Bryan Farrish came to defend himself. Can't have the negative press go unanswered.

Why not? All press is good press, especially if you're a music promoter-- you're expected to be sleazy. It's part of the job description.

Billy's Little trip- thanks for the compliment. my group educated consumers will be headlining the "no merch for oil" tour this summer. check educatedconsumers.com for details if you're interested.

i found Fight Song by googling contact information for Bryan Farrish. the number found on his website, which he has also listed in multiple message board threads, does not allow access to him; it lists direct lines to his employees who suggest leaving a message in the general mailbox if interested in speaking to bryan directly.

as i mentioned, i have been leaving messages with his employees and in the general mailbox for the last 2.5 months. i have also sent he and his employees several emails. none of my requests for a phone call have garnered a response, so i've resorted to looking through message boards in hopes of getting a direct line for him.

i am trying to contact him because i have some contractual issues with his company.

if anyone has a direct line for him, i'd appreciate the number. if bryan reads this, jojo or brett can give you my number and/or email.

peace
cole

Thanks, Cole. Good luck on your netquest for BF. You should enter a song here for a title fight, if you're not chicken.
....oh, by the way, it's "SONG FIGHT!" :P

Yep - you'll be looking at up to AUD$200,000 under the Spam Act 2003 if I find one in one of my Australian mailboxes.

I hate to give any more publicity to this company, but I was going through my mail at my office (still am) and I got two pieces of mail from BFRP today. The same CD, twice, addressed to the current Station Manager and the Music Director before me (and I've been on the job for 15 months). To me that says they don't bother updating their lists, and they don't care about their artists enough to do such a job that they don't send multiple copies of your CD to the same station.

seezmics' testimony is pretty revealing, too.

That's actually pretty common-- I mean, it got where it was supposed to, right? I used to get a lot of duplicates, too; they mostly end up given away to DJs, or as on-air giveaways, so in the end, that works out well enough for the promotion company too.

Not defending the guy, he's clearly doing a crappy job, but in this case he probably thinks he doesn't have to do any better than crappy, and (sadly) he's mostly right.

so apparently bryan has "reported" me for calling his office over the last 4 months.

obviously i would not have had to call so many times if my calls had been returned.

i have not received a return phone call from him, and his employee was unable to explain who i was reported to or why.

so here we go again: bryan, you can reach me at the number i've left with your employees.
i won't report you for calling.

I've been fighting the urge to reply to this thread for too long.

I wanted to come in here and say that I stood by my first post and that BF only added more material for rebuttal.

Now I'm just posting because of the Google popularity.

HEY MOM!

Well Bryan did reply to alot of things and even offered to fix several things if concrete proof was given to him. I would advise you guys to take him up on his offer. At least then he can't use the "I didn't know it was broken" defense.

That is, if he ever comes back to the thread.
