Things To Do In New York:
- Spend $48 million on Randy Johnson in hopes that everyone will forget the 2004 ALCS.
- Lose in 2005 anyway.

My NY track is done and sent in. I went the sarcastic "I Hate NY" route, how many are doing pro and how many anti?

I hope Kate Pierson's okay with my homage to her.

I just have a kind of bare bones version of my NY song, but I'm too depressed to work on it anymore, so I'll just not send it in. It would just waste everyone's time, it's not very good at all.

Just finished writing a NY song - hopefully I'll get it recorded tonight when I get home for work
Just out of interest - what is the "PST" that the deadline is quoted in? Is that GMT -8hrs? (I'm guessing my deadline is sometime in the wee small hours of Tuesday morning - but I've never actually worked it out properly)

Man, oh man. We recorded the song, finished it, sent it in, and then it was pointed out to me that the title is "Hope You're Okay," as opposed to "hope you're alright." So, we screwed up, as I was the only one who'd looked at the title, once, and then I waited a while before writing the song, and my mind turned it into "hope you're alright."
So uh....will it be graded harshly for that, or is that just completely abominable?

-Abominominable?
Some people will likely take issue with it, but I don't think most will. You were obviously inspired by the title, and, uh, I think that's what counts.

Whereas I will work myself into a rabid frenzy at the very thought of your inability to check the Songfight front page before recording vocals, and hound you remorselessly for the rest of existence. And beyond. If I remember.

if it's a really good song... i'm deffinately willing to overlook it...
even if it beats out my song... and that's tough... cause i did stick to the title :'( haha...
j/m...
it's all cool to me... but yea the others probably won't like it as much

We got our New York in just under the wire. Almost didn't happen. It's definitely sour, but also sweet. Just like the Big Apple.

Mine is also kinda dancy, kinda cool... The one I am sending in is the "Providence Mix," rather than the "Boston Mix," which was never completed.
Looking forward to this fight. It would also be cool if the fightmasters could post the new titles soon...?
Re: pro- and anti-, um, well the story doesn't really say much good about NY, but it could really happen in any city... let's just say Nathaniel Hawthorne and let it be, k?

i kind of had a similar experience. driving around earlier in the week i got an interesting idea for a song, and a few lines of lyrics appeared in my head. when i got home i was going to start writing them down but then i checked and was disappointed to see the title was "...okay" rather than "...happy". i guess it still would have worked, but would have totally lost a lot of the sarcastic delightfulness my original lyrics would've had, so i said nevermind.

If the former of the three is involved, I can't wait to hear it.
(and if you ever really want to tackle that style, I'd be more than happy to lend instruments!)

Got a 'Things to do in NY' song in at the last minute, I think. A bit rough quality wise - really just a first draft - I'm still struggling with my new recording stuff - seem to have got rid of my 'hiss' problem and replaced it with a 'crackle' problem. Oh well...
Anyway, I've sold out and attempted something very schmaltzy, sickeningly sentimental and hence potentially commercial. I'm thinking of entering it in an upcoming Aust. songwriting competition - I'd be interested in comments.

Is there a word for that feeling you get the first time you listen to your track after submitting it, and you realize how many things are wrong with the mix? If not, there should be. Probably a German word.
