I'll be recording my lyrics on Sunday. Hopefully early enough that I can critique them before I have to submit my song.

That doesn't sound like fighting talk to me. Are you trying to lull the rest of us into a false sense of security?

Our entry is solid gold, ya'll better get ready to get served.

Maybe that's because I won't be in the fight this week. Just trying to continue the tradition of immune-round entries. So not trying to lull you into a false sense of security just coming from my real sense of security (until next round, that is - then IT'S ON!).

Is there any reason why one can't win immunity more than one week in a row?

I don't think it's possible. If Ross submits a song this round, I don't believe the judges include it in their rankings. Is that right?

Also: I just finished my song. Big thanks to the judges for keeping me in this long, because this was the most satisfying song I've recorded in a long time. It was so much fun to do, I don't even care if it gets me eliminated. But I hope you like it.

If you're immune, you're not officially placed in the rankings, and you can't win immunity for the next round, as far as I understand things.

Busy weekend. I won't get my final vocals done until Monday morning. I hope the holiday extension saves me if I run a bit late.
Also, tomorrow is my son's Birthday and we have friends and family coming over for a BBQ.

I do not want to sound overly competitive by coming out against an extension, so I won't. However, I have a confession to make regarding last week's (round 2) entry. I did not have any time to put into it all week. It got to be Saturday night, and I was too drunk to record. So I got up at 6:30 Sunday morning, wrote the song hung over, was recording by 7:00 and had it in by the deadline at 10:00am. This week, we worked on it for days. Just sayin', sometimes the deadlines hit some people at the wrong time, some time they hit others. Nur Ein does not make excuses.

This round has been an excersise in fustration! I managed to get some extra vocals for the challenge this afternoon and it was going well until my computer started coughing and spluttering. With all the vocal tracks and some other issues which I have generally with my computer at the moment I couldn't even listen to the whole song to mix it. I was lucky if I could get three tracks running at a time and it took about 6 minutes to export the 3 and half minute track to .wav. It's in now though, and it's ok, definately could have been better but I'm not sure I would have been able to fix my problems if I'd had another week. Also: bonus spoonerism from one of the singers, spot it if you can. :D

Edit: Damn it! With all the exports I'd done I sent in the wrong bloody version! I hope Niveous is feeling generous and accepts the new one.

I think it actually ended up pretty good - although it was nice to get out of my head about it and just have a little fun (I mean, I always have fun...). I look forward to hearing everyone's songs!

Feels a little different in the passenger seat, doesn't it. :P

NUR EIN!!! << note, 3 exclamation points for round three. The unofficial new trend.
I also made my song exactly 3 minutes just for shits and giggles.

Y'all know the drill. The songs have been posted on the lj site as well as in the first post of this thread. Sorry for my tardiness as I was on a train returning from vacation and I lack mobile internet access. Enjoy the tunes as the jury does its thing.

Let me tell you. It feels GREAT in the passenger seat. Driving all the time can get weary.

My favorite show I every played was MC Frontalot's first year at PAX, where I played keyboard for his set (with Glenn Case on bass and Blue Lang on drums, btw). It wasn't just that it was a great show (which it was), but I wasn't in charge of ANYTHING but my part. I have rarely played a show that I didn't have some level of responsibility beyond just playing my instrument. It was fucking great.

Is it just my computer acting up, or are some of the links not working? Some of the songs won't play from either site.

It's not just you. For the curious who can't wait for Niv to get back to his computer, here's my song: http://johnorama.com/songs/sensitive_pop/the_blitz.mp3

So far, Adam, Ken, and Starfinger are my favs.
