Nothing to apologize about, Art. You have a point there. Maybe we should move the 30 minute entries to the sidefight archive. All in favor?king_arthur wrote:Sorry, Spud...
"Prayer for Pancakes" was not an official fight and should not be in the archives. If I had known it was going to be treated as a fight and all the entries were going to be marked "winner" I would not have participated...
The reason that I am so bothered by that one is that if I send someone to my songfight artist page, the ONE SONG on there that is marked "winner" is something I cranked out in 30 minutes in support of the community. So not only did it deprive me of the King Arthur championship of the world, it also "advertises" the worst sf song I've done...

Sign me up on the "OH WELL" + "SO WHAT?" + "DEAL WITH IT" for those people. I mean, there is at least some point to KA's beef but I'm not going to reach out to those and their own regret.Reïst wrote:Spud wrote:We get requests to remove songs from the archive from time to time. I dunno, but I think it's also fair to say that some people didn't realize their songs were awful when they first posted them.
wow! word to the wise, from Rone.Rone Rivendale wrote:If I were less lazy I'd have TWICE as many losses as you guys. So there!
Everyone has their reasons. I know my reasons, I think they're legit ... but rules are rules, and I've gotten over it.Hoblit wrote:Sign me up on the "OH WELL" + "SO WHAT?" + "DEAL WITH IT" for those people. Maybe you could ask Spud and jb if they would "adjust" the archive so that all of these "high school dabblings" were listed as by some other name?Reïst wrote:Everyone has their reasons. That's why I'm submitting under my actual name again - so when people google my name, they won't just find my old songs and think I suck at life.
I think they're sticking to their guns, to be honest. But if Spud reads this and decides that it's not too much trouble, moving my old Andrew Reist songs (Crack in my Heart to Clouds Were Touching the Ground) to my Jolly Roger archive would be awesome. If you don't, it's cool ... but I'd prefer to keep that stuff away from the music I make now.erik wrote:Maybe you could ask Spud and jb if they would "adjust" the archive so that all of these "high school dabblings" were listed as by some other name?
