Just finished. I am pleased with everything except the vocals. But that is to be expected.

In the very likely event that I can't pull off a French rap song, je vous passe la parole.

Definitely in. Got most everything down over the weekend, have the rest of this week to mess with the mix (or not).

I'm interested to see if anybody recognizes the sound effects.

I might just give this one a go. It's hard not to go for the obvious song writing ideas though. We'll see what happens I guess.

I'm in, and this is the first song I'll submit at least 30 hours before the deadline. Yay!

I need a better microphone or a working acoustic pickup. Oh, and some new strings. Dammit. I wrote something pretty cool last night for this, and I should really use real instruments this time around... but unless I discover some awesome recording technique to use with what I've got, it is gonna sound shitty. The fakey computer guitars are not doing this one justice.

I'ma post the lyrics, or at least a pretty sound draft of them, tho, in case anyone wants them.

(sigh).. I'll prolly still submit whatever I end up with, just a little more prepared for production-ridicule this time around.

It is a good title.

I'm probably out because I am apparently in a mood to not really put that much excitement into my vocals and this song really requires more energy and every time I've tried to lay down vocals that energy just isn't there. I blame winter. I'll probably try again tomorrow but if its anything like my other attempts, I'll quit two takes in, because I am just not in the mood.

Chad, you really need to start experimenting with vocal fx to help create atmosphere. Not that there is anything wrong with the way you do vocals, but to give yourself inspiration to let it rip. Your songs are almost screaming for multi tracked vocals and fx to match the mood of your style. This is of course just my production passion speaking out, so take it at face value, lol.

I'm bringing my A game this week, bitches!

Or maybe A- game.

Maybe even B game. We'll see how the vocals come out.

Wildcard, bitches!
If I had a dollar for every one of my songs j$ has called a 90s pastiche, I'd have $1 for every song I've written.

Not in. No motivation. Oh well. Was in the last few in a row so not worried about it. Later.

Turns out I'm too damn tired. I could prolly pull it together if I stayed up til 2 am, but it's not worth it to me. Instead, I will cherish the cool song I wrote... no rush-job this time. Have a great one, y'all. I'm out.

Oy. Turns out collaborating with two other people and asking them to help you out with a song, especially when it's a first for all three, is pretty frustrating. As hair-pullingly hard as it is, though, this song is almost done and will be submitted tonight, no exceptions. I'm just hoping my first attempt at writing lyrics isn't as much of a total failure as I'm half-expecting it to be.

I kind of feel like a tool because I haven't been hanging out with you guys so much. Life's been a busy cluster fuck, but things have looked up quite a bit from when I was facing living in a homeless shelter.

Anyhow, I've got a very nice song going, and I still have to write lyrics/record vocals. Can I get it done before I work in the morning? Who knows....

I'll be in for reviewing at least. :)

There we go, finally finished and submitted it. And now it's 1 AM. Why did I not go to bed several hours ago? I'm insane.

I have like 9.5 hours to make a song. And nothing but nervous energy at this point. If I head to the studio right now, I'll be in.

Oops, I guess that should have read 8.5 hours (PST vs. MST)

I tried playing guitar, and apparently, drinking 6 or so beers in 3 hours impairs my ability to play guitar. This is not, however, an impediment to my submitting a song for songfight
