That is awesome. Get all you can out of this experience. I spent a few days in Tokyo (business) and then a couple in Kyoto (pleasure). Wonderful place, people, food, music, temples. We hope to spend a few months there in a couple years as part of our round the world home schooling experiment.
Oh yeah, the YouTube tag only takes the ID, not the full URL. I think that lets the local environment use the most appropriate player settings rather than what's suggested in the URL.

phpBB is a piece of crap and COULD just extract the ID from the URL, but doesn't.
And, have fun in Japan! I went to Tokyo on business a couple years ago, and didn't have nearly enough time to do much aside from go to meetings, but what I did see was a lot of fun. The best part of the trip was going to Shakey's Pizza and embarrassing the hell out of myself to a cute waitress who didn't speak a word of English (and as I later learned, anime is not a good way to learn simple Japanese phrases – the appropriate way to apologize to a stranger is すみません and not ごめんなさい).

Is Sober still at Misawa?
"Misawa
Stars and Stripes editor T.D. Flack said Misawa Air Base was hit hard; there was no power and little in the way of communications. People rushed to stores for whatever food and water they could find, ready to brave the night in sub-zero temperatures."
He's still there, but he posted to Facebook earlier today that he's fine.

Hey everyone, I am doing fine. Feels good to know you guys COULD care less :]
Roymond: Funny thing, that Stripes article you quoted should link to video I shot. In case anyone is interested, here's the two products I've put out since the quake, which (I'm told) have been on CNN, Fox, CBS, etc:
First big aftershock and immediate recovery efforts OMG SCARY:
First search and rescue teams arrive OMG DOGGIES:
I'll change the title of this thread again, and continue to update here as appropriate. I'm doing 6 hours of live radio per day, and nearly twelve hours of news and support. This morning was the first shower I've had in 5 days.

Ditto, Jimmy. Good work! Hopefully you're mostly holding a camera. It's hard to imagine what's going on over there, but thanks from NY.
