This is very true! I can kick Phil's ass at any fighty fight game (like the tekkens) any day of the week... and I rule!

i'm going to have to go ahead and agree with this... you should see asya ("verbatim") kick my ass at... well, anything. but like i said, i never had a nintendo myself, so i'm totally at a disadvantage.

nice knowin' ya, boys. See you in a couple years when you finish playin 'em all.
And my favorite NES game was (and is) The Blue Marlin.
Hey, is this a problem unique to my computer? It plays normally for like thirty seconds, then slows dramatically.

1. Chrysalis
2. River City Ransom
3. Dragon Warrior
4. Baseball Simulator 3000
5. Final Fantasy
6. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
7. SMB2
8. Gauntlet
9. The Legend of Zelda
10. Double Dragon
*If you have never played the first two games, carefully remove your eyes with needle-nose pliers. Chrysalis is a Zelda-esque game firmly rooted in RPG, exp and all. River City Ransom is like Double Dragon, but also quite RPG-ish, with stat-building, etc. Dragon Warrior is the epitome of RPG, as far as I'm concerned.
Don't fuck with my RPG's.

MC Kids.
McDonalds propaganda at its absolute finest? I do think so.
This game evokes so many different contrary emotions that I don't even know where to begin.

Fuck dude, I completely forgot Chrysalis. That game is badass.
TMNT took up my childhood, as well.
Edit: And yeah, I played MC Kids. Terrible. I mean... not Bebe's Kids terrible, but still bad.

Are you crazy! Such a good game! You could play with the princess! What more do you need?
(eric says he doesn't like the game either, but that's just because he's too dumb to comprehend anything more advanced than the original SMB. but i am working slowly on that. i don't know what your excuse is.)

I was always partial to some of the old puzzle games on the old school NES. Marble Maddness and QBert, now that was old school fun. Also, how come nobody makes those square controllers anymore, kids these days are too pampered.

because the kids that played with the square controllers became crippled (ex. turning into musicians)... those square controllers ruined my life

Also, I found that everyvideogame site a few months ago, and eternal champions was also the first game I looked for, as I have been unable to find an emulated version. Back in the day, I had eternal champions for the Sega CD! AWESOME!

I concur. EC for the Sega CD was great. So many overkills. Beware of falling clown cars!

The Konami code is, officially, up up down down left right left right B A. the "start" was just to go back to the game etc., which is why "B A B A" also worked (because after the first BA the code was already complete).
Konami still puts the code (or references to it, anyway) in some of their games. For example, in the early arcade versions of DDR, stepping up up down down left right left right before pressing the start button would put the game into some hidden mode (double, I think), and on the Gameboy version of Beatmania, the password you get after you've unlocked every song is "UUDDLRLRBA."
On the first SNES Gradius game, they changed the code a bit, and you had to press the L and R shoulder buttons instead - the normal version made your ship explode.

I hate pro-wrestler Jimmy Jacobs. He's scrawny and mostly for comic relief but today I earned a shred of respect for him. Why? I found out his finisher is called the Contra Code.
