Meanwhile, there are still Riddler trophies out there in Arkham City. It is... troubling.

Sadly, I have to withdrawal from Nur Ein. I spent the whole day on the couch with the flu and am still sick. Tomorrow I need to do all the work that I didn't do today, provided I feel better. Sucks.

If anyone is still stumped for an idea, I suggest recording a song in the genre that excels at dynamic tempo changes and lyrics about historical figures and events: metal!

Don't give up yet Ben! If you enter anything at all you'll still have some chance of surviving the round. Either way, get well soon.

Wow. Just looking over the list of the 10 other contestants in this round with the question, "Which four can I beat?" and thinking, this must be the most solid round of 12 we've ever had. Lunkhead, what does your data tell you?

It's gonna be a brutal round, methinks!

Nir Ein!!!!

It's tempting, Lunk, but I just woke up, my throat is a war zone, and if I manage to get 4 free hours before midnight, I'm goin to bed. :) I will use the extra time to submit reviews this week, however, which I really haven't had time to do until now.

Aah, that's really shit. I'm sorry dude. The competition will not be as rich without you.

Meanwhile, the WSA have written what is in my opinion our first great song of Nur Ein 7, so game on.

Nur Ein!

I probably shouldn't count my chickens, it's not been submitted at the time of posting

Dang, sorry to hear that, Ben. That changes the landscape a lot, having a former winner drop out. In response to Ross, there are still two former winners, as well as various past finalists and semi-finalists in the competition, so it's a strong field.

My song would kick ass... if i could get these lyrics down.
Boffo Yux Dudes have been kicking around ideas with me, trying to spawn inspiration. Getting a clear idea down has certainly helped.

I am in it to win it, as they say.

Now, will I be able to stand up from this chair? That is the question.

Use your legs, not your back.

When Boetius Clancy, High Sheriff of Clare, looked out from the Cliffs of Moher at the two large ships lurking off the Aran Islands on September 16th he was a rather worried man. News of the sighting of ships was coming from all along the western coast of Ireland, and the English authorities, with a lack of supplies and manpower, were greatly concerned. The fact that the English fleet had been victorious and that the Spanish fleet had been badly battered, was not generally known. Indeed, rumours to the contrary were prevalent and it is only natural that the possibility of an invasion of Ireland by an army of such power and reputed ferocity, would frighten the English authorities. This must be borne in mind when one reads the following extract from an order signed by William Fitzwilliam, the Lord Deputy, but in no way excuses the ruthless barbarity with which the order was carried out.

"… we authorise you to make inquiry by all good means, both by oath and otherwise, to take all the hulls of ships, stores, treasures, etc. into your hands and to apprehend and execute all Spaniards found there of what quality so ever. Torture may be used in prosecuting this inquiry.

The San Esteban from the Guipuzcoa Squadron went down off the White Strand. It was a vessel of 736 tons and carried 246 men and 26 guns from the port of Corunna. ...the survivors from the San Esteban were held prisoners by Clancy at his castle near Spanish Point. Evidently some had been killed on the shore by both the English and the natives but all those who were taken, were hanged on Cnoc na Crocaire near Spanish Point. This mass execution was presided over by Clancy, Turlough O'Brien of Tromra Castle, George Cusack, Captain Mordaunt and a Mr. Morton. The bodies were buried in a mass grave known to this day as Tuama na Spaineach.

The above incident on which my song is based occurred close to my ancestoral home in the Burren area of Co Clare, Ireland, where my ancestors had founded a law school, still existing at that time:
Records show that the school was founded by Gillananaev O'Caravan Ray, about 1500, and continued in use for several centuries as a centre for the study of the Brehon Laws....With the introduction of English law here, however, their status was again demeaned and some rights which were accepted in the 10th century were not fully recovered until the present century.

What my learned ancestors at Cahermacnaughten made of the incident - one can only wonder...

By converting each score so far to a percentage of available points - then averaging that over the 4 rounds so far (winners of immunity averaged over 3 rounds) - we get the current form guide:

BGM 91%
Frankie Big Face 81%
Ross Durand 73%
Manhattan Glutton 67%
Merisan 66%
ADD 65%
Genevieve Johnson 63%
DJ Ranger Den 58%
Oystercatcher 57%
Chris Cogott 56%
WSA 53%
The Chocolate Chips 41%

I got 5 names below me - but one is immune - and the other 4 don't make me feel comfortable at all. Wish I had spent more time recording and mixing and less time reading about Tudor Ireland and Spanish shipwrecks.
