Well, we'll see. I don't want to just crap out, but I also don't want to make this song. Feeling like a large container of assorted offal.

I'm in. Did I get my longshot guest mom? Hell Yeah! Did she improve my song by a ton? Hell Yeah! Did her rockstar husband add some tasty guitar licks to the song? Hell Yeah! If you know who I'm referencing with this silly post, then to you I say Hell Yeah!

Not sure if I'm getting your subtle subtext. Sunds like they'd like to remain obam-anonymous.

I've got a good song and a solid mom collaboration, but I may be bowing out. Got called into work and probably won't be home until 11.

I made a song on my iPad
But i didn't sing the last verse
WILL I?
The tock is clicking.
If I had a dollar for every one of my songs j$ has called a 90s pastiche, I'd have $1 for every song I've written.

I am in and very thankful for the help I received from Mrs. Spud (and mom to Spudnut), aka Amy. She provided me with a very interesting chord progression and another nice little melody which I worked into the song's interlude and outro. I was skeptical about this challenge at first but I am absolutely certain I never would have written this song without her input so it turned out to be a really good challenge (for me at least). And I think the song is pretty rad too. Thanks again Amy!

So, please forgive my production values, but I did want to participate this round. GarageBand... iPad... 3 hours...

GarageBand did all the fancy playing for me, so only credit me on the writing, chord changes, and piano. Yup, would have done it more my way if I had time.

BYD is in. Was a little crazy there, but we made it under the wire.

And I predicted 50% trouser snake songs, 25% Steve Irwin/Genesis , and 25% Snake Pliskin. I think I might hit pretty close on those odds...

Listening Party Monday night at 8 pm on the usual channels.

BYD is in, with help from Mrs. BYD-Al. Many thanks to her for giving part of her Mother's Day to this hot mess beautiful trainwreck of a song. I promise to give you more than two takes next time, honey.

If there's not at least one Doors or Duran Duran tribute I'll be a bit disappointed.

Sadly. That is a pair up we will never see. Steve would have worked well with Peter Gabriel. He certainly knew how to shock a monkey.
