Last hittin' stuff question (for now, heh): bowing a cymbal? It's a great shriek, but it ain't quite "hittin' ", y'know?

That would still be percussion, I believe. You're not hitting anything when shaking a maraca but that's percussion too, right?

Yes, percussion can also be shaken or scraped. (See also: eggshakers, washboard). I see no reason to rule out a bowed cymbal.

I've got something based on the title, but written on guitar. And so the "challenge" begins...

Every time there's a restrictive challenge I think of these guys.

On the plus side, finally got my Miroslav Philharmonik to play nice with Logic (mostly)… all those choral voices!
On the minus side, the original Jerry Goldsmith-y idea (he did some amazing stuff on The Omen and Planet of the Apes scores with voice and percussion) is shot to hell, and it's starting to sound like an imaginary ice-skating scene from the non-existent Danny Elfman Christmas special.
With Mellotron choir.
At least I gave up on a Morricone homage early, heh. Nur Ein!

A long as JonEric is clarifying - I am also assuming that informal percussion is also ok - pounding on boxes - stuff like that.

I'm all kinds of in.
Liner notes:
the Balance Lost track includes - Floor tom, glockenspiel, tambourine, egg shaker, hand claps, sampled drums from Love Drops by Barry Allen, many layers of Petey G's silky smooth vocals.

Just sent mine in. I listed the instruments I used (some of which are rather, um, unconventional) in the lyric section.

In. Weird fuckin' track. Went nuts with the Miroslav Philharmonik choir voices and cling-clangy metal percussion, and a Mellotron choir patch too. But it's all voices, even if some of the harmonics and such make it sound not so (aside from the drums/percussion, I mean).
Nur Ein!

mine's got vocals (lots of vocals - all recorded for this track, not samples) and lots of drums along with glockenspiel, marimba, and celesta (all in the
struck idiophone list that Jon Eric posted earlier in the thread)

I'm really pushing the deadline with this one. You'll all be happy I did.
I was able to synthesize instruments rather well with FX.
I'm up to 88 tracks but like half of them are discarded junk.

I have about 30 tracks: hand claps, close vocals, far vocals, electronic drums and claps, acoustic drum kit, Vibraphone, Glockenspiel, Agogo, shakers, and goat toes.
