I find that songs being in different ballparks as part of the beauty of Song Fight!, and that would make a good compilation. Play Cloud cuckoo Land by Jim of Seattle (2011), and then play Art Bomb by Frontalittle Squad (2013). Huuuuuuge difference! Thanks, Song Fight, for not being nothing but a wannabe-folk-singer battle like others have become; for every wannabe folk singer, there is good rock and rap, better folk, and even classical sounds and sample-heavy mixes! This thread gives me a reason to thank you, Spud, as well as you, JB, for allowing to Song Fight to continue. Most people musicians online don't really do the free MP3 download thing; if they want people to listen for free, they make a video or slideshow and post it on YouTube. But Song Fight keeps the old 1990s-early 2000s spirit of direct links to MP3 files I love so much. If you guys wouldn't have picked up, it would have crumbled due to Narbotic's absence, and the whole Internet music world would be YouTube and maybe, just maybe, a little bit of sound streaming such as Soundcloud. But thanks to Song Fight, we still have an MP3 download-based contest! So thanks for Been to China, Spud! I admit, it doesn't have the pure classical beauty of, say, a Jim of Seattle song, but that's not the point! There are different genres, and Been to China by Octothorpe has its own jive! And so does Listen Close by MC Frontalot! They're all different types of music, yet we all try to get along. I love diversity, so I stick around. As I always said, I can take Beethoven, the Beatles, and the Black Eyed Peas in the same day, as well as Bjam and BSS.
